Diprobase Range Review

Reviewed by Amanda Gazzard

I am reviewing 2 products from the Diprobase range. The two products I am reviewing today are Diprobase Daily Moisturising Cream and Diprobase Itch Relief Cream.

The Diprobase range has been used by sufferers of dry and eczema-prone skin for over 30 years.

The Diprobase range caters for different dry and eczema-prone skin states, so no matter what your skin ‘mood’ is, there is a Diprobase product to help.

I was keen to review these two products as I suffer with extremely dry sensitive skin and was interested to evaluate the daily moisturising cream. My daughter also suffers with Eczema, so my review will also be from her opinion of using these products.

Daily Moisturising Cream 150ml

The unique derma-defence formula of Diprobase Daily Moisturising Cream (150ml RRP: £10.00) provides long last moisturisation, helps strengthen the skin barrier and supports a healthy skin microflora which is a part of your skin’s natural protection. Prebiotics have been shown to stimulate bacteria from skin’s protective microflora.

The cream comes in a squeezable tube with a click lid. I used the cream daily for 7 days. The packaging states it helps reduce dry skin flare-ups for up to 3 months.

The cream was easy to apply and soaked into the skin very quickly. I did not experience any greasy residue after application. As you can apply this cream as often as needed, I used it twice a day, in the morning and evening.

I was a little dubious due to the size of the tube how long it would last but I found the amount of cream I applied went along way. I am sure after a few more applications of applying twice a day I would be able to go down to applying once a day as I noticed my skin was not so dry in-between applications, as after only a few days of application my legs were not so sore and my skin overall did not appear to look dry and flaky as I often experienced this with other moisturising products.

The Daily Moisturising Cream is a 24-hour moisturiser so I would say depending on how dry your skin is and skin type would dictate how often you need to apply in a 24-hour period. As the Daily Moisturising Cream is perfume free this cream did not irritate my daughters or my skin in anyway.

There is an information sheet enclosed in the packaging which explains how the product works, what precautions should be used i.e. if you are allergic to any of the ingredients and other information that is relevant to the product.

What makes this product ideal especially for children is it suitable for babies which even though my daughter is 13 years of age now is reassuring that the Daily Moisturising Cream is safe to use on all of the family regardless of age.

When I asked my daughter what her views were on the Daily Moisturising Cream she stated she liked that it did not leave her skin feeling greasy and she could get dressed without her clothes sticking to her skin. She found her skin not to feel so tight and she noticed her skin was not so itchy after a few days of application.

Overall I was very impressed with the Daily Moisturising Cream. It did exactly what it said on the packaging. I think it is fair to say I have now found my new Daily Moisturising Cream to use for all of my family.

Itch Relief Cream 50g

The Diprobase Itch Relief Cream (20ml RRP: £6.99, 50ml RRP: £12.99) is a steroid free formula that combines a soothing action with regeneration of the skin barrier to relieve itching and help the skin’s natural healing process.

The cream comes in a squeezable tube with a screw lid. My daughter used this cream over a 7-day period as she suffers with Eczema and is prone to frequent flare ups.

The Itch Relief Cream aids itch relief within 30 minutes. I would 90% agree with this statement as on most occasions when my daughters skin was becoming itchy applying the cream was successful in reducing the need for her to scratch her skin within the 30 minutes. It was only on a few occasions unfortunately this was not sufficient enough, but I looked at the positive and felt that prior to my daughter trying this cream she was 100% of the time using a steroid cream, so it was a huge improvement for her.

My daughter said the cream was very easy to apply and soaked effortlessly. She did not experience any stinging when applying and felt it did not leave and greasy residue after application. My daughter also commented that with some steroid creams there is often an odour after application which she finds unappealing but was pleasantly surprised and pleased there was no odour. A little cream goes along way so the tube is a sufficient size.

There is an information sheet enclosed in the packaging which explains when should the Itch relief Cream be used and when not, what precautions should be used i.e. if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, and other information that is relevant to the product.

As with the Daily Moisturising Cream I am very pleased with how the Itch Relief Cream tested and with both of these products I will be purchasing them in the future and would recommend them without hesitation.

I would rate both of these products a well-deserved 5 stars.

Rating: 5/5
