PLAYMOBIL History Egyptian Pharaoh’s Pyramid Review

Reviewed by Debbie Talbot

I struggled with history at school and so am a huge fan of anything which helps children towards this aim. This PLAYMOBIL History set is for children aged 6 years + (not recommended for children under 36 months due to multiple small parts).

At first, I was a little bit daunted at the fact that the set would take me around 1.5 hours to assemble. I need not have worried. The box contained picture step-by-step instructions on how to assemble the pyramid and it was easily assembled in around 90 minutes as guided.

What struck me was how beautiful, yet functional, the box design was. I then looked at the quality of the pieces and could see that these will have play value in my household for years to come and will likely be passed on for another child to enjoy. The little people in my life have several Playmobil sets which they love, and this set will be no different.

I love anything that teaches children without them even realising that they are learning. The box contains several pieces in various compartments and plastic bags plus a useful numbered sticker sheet. The set is ideal for encouraging role play, talk about feelings, motor skills, dexterity etc. I plan to buy a container from a discount store to keep all the pieces neatly organised in and label it up with the model no. of the toy.

This toy has had hours of play and I know it will have hundreds more hours of play value. Children can learn about world history without leaving home.

As an adult I find this toy great fun and the secret traps fascinating. It’s such a lovely family activity that is not screen or gadget based.

5 out of 5 for fun, educational value and quality.
