Last weekend we popped to LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Manchester for a family afternoon out. Our party consisted of myself, my partner, our 14 month old twins and my 8 year old daughter.
Upon arrival my daughter was so keen to dash past myself and the double buggy that she managed to bump her shoulder on one of the queue divider posts. We told a member of staff and a first aider came quickly to deal with her. He was fantastic with children whilst being professional. Once my daughter was sorted out we headed upstairs via the lift. There are 2 lifts available plus a flight of stairs. Once upstairs we opted to not do the factory tour as we are frequent visitors. Instead we dashed off to the Kingdom Quest Laser ride. Our 14 month old twins enjoyed their first ever go on this ride and were mesmerised by everything. My daughter proudly beat both myself and my partner. We popped to view the photo that was taken during the ride and were so delighted with it that we purchased a photo and 2 keyrings for £13 which is really good value. We then headed off to the Duplo area where myself and the kids built a seat out of large bricks. We then sat down for a while in the café and enjoyed a bite to eat. A kid’s lunchbox meal, toastie, fahita pannini couple of packets of crips and drinks came to approximately £16.00 as we got a 20% discount with our LDC annual passes. I thought that was reasonable value. The food was really tasty.
My partner and I sat and chatted while my daughter played in soft play area for a while. We then headed home. We were on a short visit, so we did not get around everything. That’s what’s great about LDC, you can make it an all-day thing or a quick visit.
The staff there are really helpful and café and toilet areas are clean.
You can buy annual passes which make visits really good value. See www.legolanddiscoverycentre.co.uk for more info and current prices.
