Ravensburger Ringo Flamingo Board Game Review

Reviewed by Debbie Tasker

Ringo Flamingo is made by Ravensburger so I expected a high quality game and got one. We had lots of fun playing this at home.

Ringo Flamingo comes in a bright colourful sturdy box which clearly states the age recommendation (5 – 99+), how many players (2-4) the contents and a rough guide as to what the game entails. The added photos give you a better idea than the written instructions.

The aim of the game is to save the poor Flamingos from the nasty Crocodiles. Once you have set up the board which is very easy to do you are ready to go! It actually looks easier than it is to flick the lifebuoy from your boat onto the Flamingos whilst trying to avoid hooking a crocodile. I would say play this on a large table or big space because the lifebuoys go everywhere! When you do manage to ring a flamingo it is an achievement (for me as well as the kids).

The instruction booklet enclosed suggests you can play the game in a few different ways which is an excellent idea in my opinion. Whoever has the most around Flamingos at the end of the game is the winner.

Being off school this week it entertained lots of children from the age of 3 (four in August and he managed perfectly to play) to 15 (even though she insisted she was too big to join in at first). I liked the fact that it also helps with hand/eye co-ordination and being the parent of a dyspraxic  child although he is now 23, it is ideal for youngsters with the this problem.

It held everybody’s attention and I am looking forward to many more games.
