We were invited to review Giggles Play Mill in Warrington – an ideal distraction in the school holidays. My friend and her girls met myself and daughter at the venue. It was very easy to find. From Manchester it was basically one straight road for the motorway junction. The play area is set on the top floor of a mill type building called Evans House. There was plenty of street parking but also two gravelled car parking areas too.
The building was home to quite a few businesses including a ladies gym and laser quest, but Giggles Play Mill was on the 3rd floor. In the building the play venue signposted very clearly, as was the lift to access the floors. We however decided to walk – the stairs did seem to go on for ever and I couldn’t talk when we got to the top – so I definitely recommend the lift!
The play area was very clean and well spread out. At the entrance desk you had to sign in your child for fire safety purposes. The cost per child for play is £3.50 in term time, including a free tea/coffee. In the school holidays the cost is £4.00 – this is for unlimited play with no time restriction – a really good deal in our eyes, especially as there was no cost for adults unlike some other play areas (a huge bug bear of mine).
There is a brand new toddler play area (under 3’s) at the front of the venue and then everything from climbing areas, slides, and even a climbing wall. As well as the huge play area, there were also additional activities that changed daily including arts and crafts, glue and stick, building and construction, playground games and on the day we went, a bouncy castle!
The girls loved it! They were very safe and happy, and there were many areas and activities for them to explore! Us parents sat in the cafe area near the entrance and had a coffee and then at lunch time we all had dinner. The cost of the food and drink was really reasonable and included items such as toasters, baked potatoes and sandwiches. There was even a child’s meal deal for £3.50 of two courses and a drink!
Giggles Play Mill has a dedicated area for your child’s birthday party from £8.00 per head and a choice of themes like princess, sports and music.
With comments such as “awesome” “lots of fun” and “a cool place to play” from our children, I would definitely recommend and return to Giggles Play Mill. I couldn’t fault the facilities, food or helpful staff. The offers are great and so are their prices.
