Along with most children our six year old is fascinated by unicorns and anything associated with them and I have to agree there is something magical about them, so we were both delighted to get the chance to review this toy and to create our own unicorn world. I say we but once I saw how much our six year old was loving this product I had to make myself pull back and let her create her own world, although I was itching to get stuck in, it was lovely to watch her build the unicorn world on her own and see how much she was enjoying feeling and moulding all the materials and using her own imagination. She was so proud of the finished product.
Sensory play is still important to a child’s development as they get older and helps them with problem solving and making sense of the world around them.

Inside the box is the dome with string lights, four packs of different coloured modelling clay, one pack each of coloured sand, foam balls, fluffy balls, sparkles, large and small coloured rocks, large and small rainbow decorations, card backgrounds a flower shaped cutter and three adorable little unicorn characters, there was more than enough to fill the dome. The colours are lovely they blend well together to create a fun, magical image. We have a little left over that we are going to use to create a mini dome in a jam jar.
There are some illustrations on the box to give an idea of how you can build your unicorn world but it’s really up to your imagination to make your own unique world.
Once your world is complete you need to leave the dome off for 24 hours to give the clay a chance to dry out properly. Then it’s time for the best part put the dome on and switch on the lights, the world looks cute without the lights but when they are switched on the whole thing takes on an even more magical feel, the lights also change colour, it’s a lovely thing to have on a child’s bedside as they go to sleep.

We did struggle a bit to keep all the items in place when we put the dome on but it didn’t really matter, the whole thing still looked lovely once the lights started to twinkle.
My top tip is making sure the batteries which are not included are in before you start building your world. The lights won’t work until the dome is in place at first I thought I had put in dud batteries.
This toy is suitable for ages 6 and up and should be used with adult supervision.
If you have a child who loves unicorns and looking for something new and exciting for them this would make the perfect gift and it’s in a square box that would be so easy to wrap.
