Zippos Circus Brighton Review

16-28 August 2018

Zippos Circus is celebrating 250 years of the circus and last night (16 August 2018) I went along to witness their celebration.

Set in the easily accessible area of Hove Lawns in Brighton, right next to the King Alfred swimming and sports centre. Pay and display parking is available in all of the closest and adjacent roads, with public transport access also nearby. I would recommend getting there early if you can as it gets quite busy. This will also give you time to grab your program, buy some souvenirs for the children or visit the food section where you can buy drinks, hot dogs and popcorn for reasonable prices. Get this out of the way then you can find a seat, relax and wait for the fun to begin.

Throughout the evening Norman Barrett MBE – The World’s Greatest Ringmaster keeps the audience informed of all the performances and everything we need to know. Norman also has his own section of the show where we get to see his beautiful, clever and extremely entertaining budgies. This was one of my favourite bits of the evening. This circus is made up of some extremely talented individuals. Stunning acrobats from the Havana Quartet and Hermansito Troupe, Exquisite contortion tricks from Melissa Jimenez Perez and Astonishing stunts by the Khadikov Riders.

Stand out performances for me and my family that shouldn’t be missed were Alex Michaels the fearless aerialist that had all of the audience in awe of thrilling act. I think at one point my mouth literally hit the floor. Pablo and Vicky Garcia were amazing with their Rocket launch, I don’t want to give too much away on this one, but it was spectacular. With Totti Time and Paulo De Santos to also entertain you, this circus really is a truly epic show.

What was also lovely to see was some of the younger generation being introduced to the audience. Charlie Alexis with his comedic brilliance and he is only 6 years old. Antonio and Connor Garcia also graced the arena and you can just see they are headed for great things in the future.

You won’t be disappointed, so pop down and see this fabulous Circus whilst it’s still in town.

Entertaining, funny, thrilling and with breath taking stunts, this Circus has something for the whole family.

Rating: 5/5
