Grangers Wash + Repel Clothing 2 in 1 Review

We are a family of walkers, ramblers and hikers. We also, love an outdoor adventure, whatever the weather, such as a hill to climb, a Munro to conquer, or just a Sunday afternoon jaunt on the moors. And with that, we have a cloakroom full of a variety of waterproof jackets and over trousers. Most of which are not as waterproof as they once were!

We often spend more time outdoors than we should, and as a result, our outerwear takes a beating in all kinds of weather. We then end up back home, energised but muddy in ‘tired’, wet clothes. 

To be honest, I discovered one of the Grangers products, a while ago now, and have been using the Grangers Down Wash for a few seasons. It has, certainly, been the perfect product for all our down-filled feather jackets. Yet somehow, the Grangers Wash + Repel Clothing 2 in 1 had passed me by! It’s yet another excellent product from the Grangers range, but I had not tried it before, although this is a product, that, I know as a family, we will test to the limits. 

As it says on the bottle, and, this is not just any old bottle, it’s a 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) bottle, it is a 2 in 1 product. Basically, it will save you time, energy and effort by enabling, you, the user, to wash and clean your clothing in your washing machine, concurrently, while the product works its ‘magic’ on your clothes, by providing durable repellency. This product is your ‘go to’ for all your outdoor layers – for cleaning, refreshing, restoring water repellency, and revitalising the breathability of wet weather clothing.

I have no issues with investing in our outer layers, and have paid silly money for the latest ‘all singing all dancing’ waterproof jacket, and the need for them to be (and, to continue to be) waterproof always being top of my wish list. I know that with use and time, and normal washing products, that even the protection afforded by my once totally waterproof items, diminishes in time.

Before receiving the product, I had never re-waterproofed anything in my life and would have been very unsure about what to use. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I put both my partners and my jacket in the washing machine together. It cleaned them well, even removing some significant grime on the cuff area, and it waterproofed them both. My jacket had previously become so leaky in the rain that it was actually unwearable, but now it’s totally back to providing the 100% protection that it did from the day I bought it. In fact, the rain now runs straight off my jacket! This is a great product, and I would definitely recommend it. How I have not discovered this product before is a mystery?!
