Wonder And Awe Cozy Christmas Hamper Review

Wonder & Awe have a great website to look at if you’re after a hamper as a gift for someone. They have a variety of hampers for different occasions, including Christmas, birthdays, pamper and thank you.

I received the Cozy Christmas hamper, for which I chose the cozy Christmas socks, mulled wine tea (the other option was gingerbread roobiboos) and the memory match game (which was 1 of 8 different games, including movie or music trivia, jokes, who am I etc.) from the items with choices. The sock option had 2 different styles in women’s and the same for men. Instead of socks I could have chosen a gingerbread house kit, bamboo candle or mulled wine cider spice kit. It was the fluffy socks that drew me to this hamper though.

The hamper also comes with a luxury Christmas chocolate bar (candy cane peppermint white chocolate), speciality popcorn (Christmas pudding flavour!), pick and mix sweets and a soothing shower steamer. When the hamper arrived it was in a strong cardboard box with a big ‘Merry Christmas’ sticker on the front. Once the box was opened, the contents were wrapped in red tissue paper that was sealed with a snowflake sticker, which was a nice touch. The items inside were well packed and looked really appealing. The game and chocolate had been substituted for a decorate your own Santa’s sleigh, which was ideal for me as I had 3 little helpers, who have just broken up from school for the Christmas holidays, to decorate it! If being picky I guess they could have offered different substitute items to choose from before sending. However, the key thing that I had wanted from the hamper was the cozy socks and these did not disappoint. The socks have a furry lining and have reindeer on with pom poms on the top. They also have grippy blobs on the bottom. They feel indulgent and are extremely comfortable and cozy, particularly with their fluffy inner layer.

Their website is easy to navigate, with hampers placed in different categories. Their hampers can be ordered for personal use or gifts or they can be used as corporate gifts. There’s also the ability to buy and add additional items to the hampers to further personalise them and the option to add a personal message when sending. They also offer some children’s toys, home items and groceries on their website. They are aiming to make deliveries within the hour! I like that they are fairly small and have a section with details about all of their employees.

They have a number of offers on their website, including some discounted hampers. They offer a discount on orders, which varies according to how much you spend, starting at 5% for orders over £30. Their little hampers start from £14.99, so very reasonable as a gift.

Wonder & Awe is a British based company, with an office in Berkhamstead and they ship their items from London. They deliver via either DPD or Royal Mail and will process the order on the same day and post it the following day if an order is received before 12 o’clock. However, if you are within Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire or Central London then they will do same day delivery and are working towards delivery within the hour!

I was pleased to see that the majority of the items were made and sourced from within the UK. The teabags come from True Tea in Harrogate, the popcorn is from Popcorn Shed in London, the Slumber shower steamer is made by AWM in Sheffield. I’m not a fan of cheap imported goods if quality items can be sourced without incurring unnecessary air miles. I’m also keen on natural ingredients so was pleased to see that the popcorn had all natural ingredients and flavourings. It’s also gluten free. For their sweets they offer a vegetarian option and they have several vegetarian items on their website.

These hampers would be great as a much more welcome alternative to the standard bath/beauty items that are often gifted to people when you’re not sure what to get them. They would also be a great secret santa option, for offering some lovely products that people will actually like opening and then go on to enjoy using.
