This is the sequel to the British football hooligan gangster film The Rise and Fall of a White Collar Hooligan.
After testifying and send a lot of his friends and associates to prison Mike Jacobs (Nick Nevern) has been placed in the witness protection scheme and been relocated to Spain with his girlfriend (Rita Ramnani). They have new names and with a £1 million payoff from his old partner Eddie they have their own bar. However, on a night out to watch Barcelona play football his is recognised by some members of the gang and they kidnap his pregnant girlfriend and give him 4 days to get £2 million to their boss.
In his hunt to source the money he travels from Spain to New York and back to London and teams up with his pal Eddie and their own band of hooligans to get the money, rescue his girlfriend and escape the gang altogether.
Overall, I found this to be a mediocre gangster film with the usual East End accents. As I haven’t seen the first film I am missing the back story of this sequel. While not a bad story I found slow in places and at times not enough was happening to keep my interest, that said the second half of the film was better once they started putting their plans together. Although Vas Blackwood only had a small part in it he was my favourite character, even playing a gangster he still manages to be funny.
As British gangster films go it is not the best but then not the worst, but it is worth a watch and would probably be better if you have seen the first one to know the complete storyline as this one does refer to it quite a lot.
