Water Babies Fish Bath Toys Review

Reviewed by Julie Powell
We were lucky enough to receive the new Water Babies family of fish bath toys to review, with two little boys to bathe I am always looking for products to make bath time more fun and these definitely fit the bill!
The fish family consists of Smooch, Inky, Custard and Dotty which have each been designed and named by some of the water babies swim children. The design of the fish really matches their names so are easy to learn and as each design is funky and fun and hand painted with natural food grade dye it means that they are safe for teething little ones to chew on happily.
The fish are a really good size and are made from a natural latex rubber (from the Hevea tree) which is super soft and squidgy, but the best design feature of these by far is the fact that they contain no holes meaning they will last longer than other bath toys we have purchased as so many contain an air hole meaning that within months they turn mouldy and can hold bacteria meaning they are unsafe so sadly have to go away.
The fish are suitable from new-born upwards with one of the fish being painted black and white (Inky) which has been designed especially for younger babies (0-3 months) as at that age the monochrome colour scheme provides them with the best type of visual stimulation.

So after a rather fun packed day out at the park with two mucky boys who were protesting about the impending doom of the dreaded bath time it was time to introduce them to their new fish family, each of the fish came in a little drawstring bag so the boys were unaware of the delights that were waiting inside they were absolutely amazed to open up the little bags and find their new toys and before they even got into the bath the fish were being played with and several nursery rhymes were being acted out using the fish as props! Time came for the boys to hop in the bath and I’ve never seen them so willingly get into the bathtub! The fun continued with the fish having their hair washed, swimming away from the imaginary shark and the nursery rhyme scenes being re-enacted. After bath time was over, we dried each of the fish and put them to sleep in their own little bags. The Water Babies family of fish will definitely be a regular feature in the boys bath time going forward. The fish are also suitable for taking to the swimming baths so will be coming with us next time we go to the pool!
The Water Babies new fish family are available individually with a price of £8.99 per fish and are available from the Water Babies website, you might think that they are a little pricey but the fact that they offer longevity I think that they are definitely worth it!
