Vistaprint Canvas

I have been really keen to have a large canvas print made of the kids for my lounge wall for quite some time now – every year, Christmases and birthdays have come and gone with my hints and gentle suggestions going unanswered, so this year I took things into my own hands and ordered my own canvas from the Vistaprint website! Vistaprint actually have an awful lot on their website that would make superb gifts at this time of year, from calendars and phone cases to fleece blankets and cushions so my head was very nearly turned. But when I clicked on the canvas section and saw what they looked like as well as all of the different options available, my mind was made up and I decided that the canvas was definitely the item for me!

The website is really easy to use and laid out the different designs and options very well, and there is a nice simple linear ordering process. I was looking for a large canvas for the chimney breast in the lounge, so my choice was either going to be the 50cm x 70cm or the 60cm x 90cm option. I decided to go for the one, single image as a traditional style of print but there are some lovely collage options available too, with spaces on the have your names, family name or initials.

I must be honest and say that once I had selected the larger canvas sizes and uploaded my images to my Vistaprint account, I started panicking a little. The design tool on the website allows you to crop, re-centre and zoom into your image and when I started playing with the design to get the image I wanted, the website started warning me that the resolution of my image wasn’t quite high enough. After spending a little while getting slightly worried that I wouldn’t have an image that would work, I picked up the phone (I’m old-fashioned like that) and called the customer support number on Vistaprint’s website. I will add at this point that it was nearly midnight, and my call was answered almost immediately, and I was lucky enough to speak to one of the most helpful customer service agents I have ever spoken with!

I gave her my account number and she was able to look at the canvasses I had started creating and have a really good look at them for me. She re-sized a couple of the images for me so that they would work with the canvas sizes, as well as telling me which pictures simply weren’t good enough quality to use. I honestly couldn’t have asked for better and she was a real credit to the company and has left me with a fantastic impression of Vistaprint.

In the end, I decided to go for the 50cm x 70cm option in a horizontal orientation, which is currently £54.99 + shipping. I opted for the economy delivery option, which takes up to 10 days although a premium, 2-day delivery option is available. Given as I was expecting delivery to take close to the full ten days, I was flabbergasted that I ordered my canvas at 8.30pm on Monday night and my beautiful canvas was hanging proudly on my lounge wall by 11am on Friday! The canvas arrived in perfect condition, having being packed very securely and safely by Vistaprint.

All I can say is that I am absolutely blown away with it! The quality of the print is excellent and the colours are bright and vivid. There is no blurring or distortion on the image at all and it quite simply looks stunning on the wall. The canvas is stretched over a 2cm thick wooden frame, and it comes ready assembled; I have had canvasses before that you have to assemble yourself and a ready-done one is infinitely superior! The frame also houses a good quality, brass wall hanger which makes it super easy to hang on the wall and get straight!

The print is fade-resistant which is great to see as I have had to hang it in direct sunlight and it would be a massive shame if it were to lose its vibrancy over time. These canvasses are available in six different sizes, from £19.99 for a 30cm x 30cm square to £64.99 for a 60cm x 90cm rectangular canvas.

I would not hesitate to recommend this product, and Vistaprint as a company, following my experience with them. They have plenty on the website that would make superb Christmas gifts, with products to suit most budgets, and the customer service is absolutely faultless. My other half even said he’d have bought me one years ago, if I’d only said!
