True Skincare Facial Care Review

Reviewed by Ann Durrell

In our modern life we are constantly bombarded with pollutants without knowing it and your skin can bear the brunt of it. True Skincare is a newly launched brand providing 100% organic products as certified by the soil association.

Whether you eat, drink or use in in Skincare, Matcha is reported to have lots of health benefits. One of which is being a powerful antioxidant which helps to slow down the anti-aging cell process. True Skincare’s Certified Organic Purifying Matcha Tea Face Mask (RRP: £12.75), comes in a glass jar and, as with all their products is waterless, vegan organic and cruelty free.

Before use I popped the jar into a dish of warm water for five minutes to soften it ready to put on my face. The mask contains Rosemary and Patchouli oil and when I opened the lid, I was struck with how gorgeous it smelt, It was like a spa in my living room very luxurious. Putting the mask on it has a consistency I would compare to a mud mask, I applied it all over my face but as directed not near the delicate eye area. After 15 minutes removed the mask with a little warm water and a cloth, it took a few minutes to remove but once off my skin felt lovely, really smooth.

Looking in the mirror I was impressed with how fresh and clear my complexion looked. It’s recommended for use 2 to 3 times a week and I will be doing so as the next morning my skin still felt moisturised, this is probably down to the Shae butter and Jojoba.

I am always a little hesitant to use an oil product on my face in case it makes my skin greasy. True Skincare’s Certified Organic Balancing Safflower & Basil Facial Oil (RRP: £13.50) is an ultra-light formulation which is inspired by the Air Element. Safflower oil is rich in linoleic acid and Omega 6 which True states moisturises whilst helping to unclog pores and reducing blemishes.

The oil is stored in a glass bottle with pipet to deliver a drop at a time. I popped two drops onto the back of my hand and then rubbed across my face, avoiding the eye area. Like with the mask I tried earlier the smell again is delicious. As soon as I put the oil onto my skin, I could feel it being absorbed and my skin felt plumped and full. I used the oil in the morning for a week and could see the difference. One of my colleagues actually commented to ask if I had changed my make-up as my skin looked so good! I have been really impressed with the True Skincare products I have tried and will be looking at the rest of their line to see what I want to try next.
