Who cannot beat a girls night in for a catch up over some good food, cheese and biscuits with nibbles and what is the perfect partner to marry up with all of this? Wine of course and this went down really well I have to say.
Based on the pairing suggestion from Asda, I cooked us all some lovely spicy pork chops, with some mediterranean vegetables and from choice, I add new potatoes baked in the air fryer. To say this wine partnered well is an understatement. What made it even more special, was that one of my friends brought the exact same bottle with her, so that was a bonus! Double the taste and double the fun. We had 1 bottle with the dinner and the 2nd one with the cheese, biscuits grapes, figs, nuts and chutneys. The cheese selection was some really rich ones such as camembert, stinking bishop, gruyere and stilton. O… M… G! We were all in heaven!
More about the wine now – ‘The exert below is taken from the Asda website and is their wording, not mine’
‘Trivento gets its name from the three winds that rise and fall over the Andes mountains which cool and warm the vineyards of Mendoza. These are known as Polar, Zonda and Sudestada. These winds create the perfect growing conditions for Malbec grapes across the seasons, leaving their mark on the vines, until they’re ready for harvest. The grapes are then picked and pressed by skilled winemakers to create quality wine that goes into every bottle of Trivento’.
Germán Di Césare is the Chief Winemaker at Trivento. Germán (or Geri to his many friends) is a native of Mendoza, and joined Trivento in 2002. He has since developed his passion and craftsmanship for wine to become one of its leading winemakers. Under Geri’s expertise, the Trivento range has set the standard for Malbec. Each one displays a perfect balance between fruit and oak with rich complexity, whilst remaining endlessly drinkable’.
TASTE VERDICT
I love a Malbec wine and have to say, I have tasted many and this is by far, the best I have tasted. Such a great wine. It is an excellent full bodied wine with smooth and decadent taste. There is nothing over powering about it and did not feel overly heavy either. Rich in colour, taste and quality too which must be due to the fact that it is aged for 8 months in oak barrels.

I had never heard of the ‘B Corporation’ before so I had to find out more about this. Apparently, if a company meets a high standard of environmental management, governance ad social performance, they are awarded a certificate for this. How good is that and good on family for working to such a high standard. You can find out more about this from the Trivento Website, just click on the following link:- https://www.sistemab.org/en/welcome/
The company have put together an online virtual tour, it is amazing, just click on the following link to be transported to their vineyard:-

They even offer experiences, so, if you are planning a trip to Argentina or even if not and you are like me, now thinking about it, click on the link to find out more. Me and the girls a now tempted to look into doing this. From an art gallery, guided tours to bike tours and wine and chocolate tasting:-

RATING: 5/5
If a wine ever deserved a high rating, it is this one. Taste, aroma and pairing worked amazingly well and one for the wine rack for sure.
