I was so pleased to be asked to review buyagift, especially when I was told it was a spa break for two. My husband and I have both been working and juggling home life, so it was nice to think of taking time out to spend with each other.
The buyagift process could not be simpler, you look at the options on their website www.buyagift.com. You will find many to choose from. Once paid for you will receive your voucher. You can have this as a digital voucher or have it sent by post. I opted for the postal option, I think because you have up to a year from purchase to use your voucher it is easier for me to have a physical reminder in the form of paperwork, but I am aware others prefer to have everything on line, but it is good to have the choice.
It arrived a day or so later, in the form of a green wallet, ‘Experience…’ was written in white on the front sleeve. If I was given this as a present, I would be excited to anticipate opening the envelope to find out what it contained, the only clue being the buyagift logo.
Inside the envelope is a lovely photograph of a stately home with smaller photo’s inset, including; an afternoon tea, a city skyline, a person enjoying a massage and a couple having a glass of wine. This sets the scene of possible places to go, things to do and experiences you could have, to enjoy being together.
Next are three simple steps of how to book your experience, visit the website www.buyagift.com click ‘got a voucher’ and then log in with your voucher reference and pin code which are provided within the wallet, along with the voucher expiry date, so there is no pressure to do this immediately. This will give you details of how to book your experience. Or there is a QI code which will take you directly to the booking page.
The hardest part of this process is deciding which one of the 24 wonderful hotel and spa’s you want to choose. They are dotted around the country, so you might want to consider how far you want to travel or if there is a particular place you want to visit. I am sure there is the right place for most people. I would encourage you to read the online reviews to help find what suits you best, along with what facilities each hotel provides, especially if you have specific needs.
We opted for Moor Hall Hotel and Spa, a country house that is a picturesque wedding venue, set in its own beautiful grounds, the spa facilities include a gym, which I can’t pretend to have reviewed, as I was there purely for relaxation! The pool and jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were perfect to do just that, relax. You could also indulge in spa treatments at an extra cost.
Our room was a deluxe suite and it was very spacious, the king-size bed was comfortable and the large seating and dressing area was a bonus. The communication from the hotel was excellent and all the staff were polite and friendly.
The hotel has a lounge bar and there are two dining options, The Country Kitchen Carvery or The Oak Room. We chose the Country Kitchen’s three course set menu for £22 per person, which I think is very reasonable. Breakfast was included in the buyagift experience and was excellent quality. We were very happy with our overall experience and had a much needed enjoyable, relaxing break.
