When it comes to the Tomy toy range, I am never disappointed and absolutely love their concept, so when I was asked to review this, I could not wait. Having reviewed other items of theirs in the past, I knew I would not be disappointed with the this toy either.
So come on, who remembers the good old Etch-a-Sketch, well I do and I remember having one from as early as 7 and I absolutely loved it. Could never stop playing with it. I was really gutted when it broke and that same year, Santa brought me another one, I was so excited but sadly, over the years, it gave up the ghost and I grew out of it, well, I thought I did until I got this. WOW! I felt like a kid again and could not wait to try it out. Yes, I did try it out with the grandchildren too, after all, it is designed for the younger generation but, you are never too old right?
So, it is school holidays and what do you do to keep the children occupied, well, Tony’s Megasketcher of course and it is brilliant. It is portable which means it can be taken out in the car, on picnics or just for fun in the house and garden. Who needs to stick a child in front of an iPhone/iPad when they can put their creative and imaginative skills to the test with one of these.
It is very easy to use and by swiping the lever up and down the magnetic screen, it clears the display ready to use again. There is no end to creating fantastic pictures, you can even use it to play games such as hangman, noughts and crosses and even for maths. The best thing about this, is the fact it saves on paper, unless you want a drawing as a keepsake of course.
It has a brilliant carry handle which is easy to use, even for those little hands.
The colours of the Megasketcher are bright and bold which are also brilliant for a child’s cognitive development, try playing a game by get the child to show you the blue or orange part of the stylus or the orange edges etc. It is fun, interactive and a great way to help teach a child with interactive play.
HOW TO USE THE MEGASKETCHER
It comes with a stylus where you can write on it and it also comes with 4 different shaped stampers, paw, arrow, circle and what I would describe as a cog which can be used when making flowers. Once finished, just swipe the lever from up and down to clear the screen and you are ready to start a new picture or game. It really is that easy and simple.
