Working from home and in front of a screen all day means it is more common for me to get a headache or back pain through bad posture, so I was really excited to get the opportunity to try two pain relief products from ThermoDR – a microwavable eye mask and a microwaveable body wrap.
Both of them came together in a large packet with the ThermoDR body wrap having no other packaging apart from the label wrapped around it and the ThermoDR eye mask arriving in a small cardboard box.
I tried the ThermoDR eye mask on first and saw that it is meant to relax and relieve tension. Firstly the eye mask has a bit of weight to it – especially compared to other eye masks. It is a really lovely soft grey material and has elasticated straps which are easy to adjust to fit any head size. The white label on the side of the mask is slightly annoying as it is quite large but I appreciate this is something the company has to have.
It is very easy to put on and feels very comfortable when on and I would happily use it without heating it! But it is a microwavable eye mask so I then put it in the microwave. The leaflet in the box and the instructions on the outside of the box are a bit confusing as they both say different things. The instructions on the box says ‘heat for no more than 50 seconds on a microwave oven up to 1000W’ and the leaflet says ‘never…. exceed the heating time of 30 seconds in a microwave oven up to 1000 watts’. It also says that this product can cause burns and therefore it is really important not to overheat. As a result I put the eye mask in the microwave for 20 seconds and it was a nice temperature (warm but not hot) when I took it out.
I again easily put it on and found it very soothing. The weight of the eye mask pleasantly eases tension and it definitely relaxed me.
The ThermoDR body wrap is also microwaveable. But I love that you can also put it in a sealed plastic bag and then freeze it (for at least two hours) and then use it as a cold compress instead.
The first thing you notice about the ThermoDR body wrap is the smell. It is made from cleaned UK wheat and dried French lavender and the smell is lovely and soothing. However you do have the option of buying the ThermoDR body wrap without scent if you would prefer and it is great to have both options.
Again the ThermoDR body wrap is very soft to touch and has sturdy elasticated straps on each side which means you can easily adjust the size of the body wrap. I put it in the microwave for 40 seconds and used it after a long day at work. It is easy to place on any part of your body that is in pain and I used it on my lower back. It was definitely soothing and reduced my lower back pain.
There are five other products on their website including a neck wrap, a shoulder wrap and instant heating patches. All of their products are designed by physiotherapists and are made to be non-invasive pain relief through heat.
I really liked both products and I think they are really good value for money as you can keep on reusing them.
Rating: 5/5
