The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick Review

Reviewed by Louisa Nashir

I recently saw an advert on the TV for the cinema adaption of this book and though how good it looked, so I was pleased to receive this book to read and review.

The story follows Pat who is separated from his wife Nikki and life has not been good to him. He has the strange idea that his life as everything that happens to him is God’s doing and he thinks he is destined for a happy ending.

Unfortunately Nikki is nowhere to be seen and no one will tell Pat where his wife is or seem to bother with him any more as they all have their own lives now. Pat feels extremely lonely.

Pat is released into his families care from the mental institution he has been staying in and whilst out he meets the very beautiful Tiffany. Tiffany is no stranger to sadness and was widowed at a young age and offers to help Pat win back Nikki.

The book is a classic rom-com and extremely easy to read and follow.

I enjoyed the story and will definitely be booking tickets to see the film now.

Highly recommended
