Recently I went with my husband to the The Brache, Beefeater, in Luton for a meal. The Brache is by the side of a Premier Inn and within easy reach of Luton Airport Parkway station and therefore Luton airport. We had a reservation so were quickly seated.  Our waitress came more or less straight away to take our drinks order.  She was bright and cheerful.

After a lot of deliberation I decided on an 8oz Sirloin Steak at £14.99 which was served with grilled tomato and flat mushroom, chips and a side salad. I could have had buttered new potatoes, but decided to stick with the chips and have my steak medium.

My husband chose a 10oz Rump Steak for £12.99 which also came with grilled tomato and flat mushroom, chips and a side salad. He also considered the buttered new potatoes, but like me stayed with the chips. He also requested his steak to be medium.

My husband chose a creamy peppercorn & brandy sauce to go with his steak whilst I went for the new Creamy Mushroom sauce, both £1.49. Our waitress didn’t write anything down!

Before she left our table we realised, we hadn’t ordered a starter!

I decided on garlic and herb breaded mushrooms at £4.79 with just the garlic mayonnaise and not the BBQ sauce, and my husband copied!

It was a Friday evening and the restaurant was very busy, but it wasn’t very long before the starters arrived. The mushrooms were delicious, the breadcrumbs crispy and with the garlic mayonnaise as a dip, fantastic! I could make a meal of breaded mushrooms with garlic mayonnaise!

Unfortunately we then had a very long wait for our main course (it was a busy Friday night), but it was worth it in the end when our steaks arrived. My sirloin was delicious and so tender, not a bit of waste on it. The chips were hot as were the grilled flat mushroom and tomato and the salad was fresh. The mushroom sauce was really nice!

The rump steak was also very tasty but I don’t think it was as tender as my sirloin, it went well with the peppercorn sauce. My husband cleared his plate!

All in all we enjoyed our meals even though we were in the restaurant far longer than we intended to be.

Both our steaks and their accompaniments were really delicious, as were the breaded mushrooms.  I can thoroughly recommend The Brache and think it was excellent value for money!
