It might be winter, but who needs summer when it comes to making a cocktail? Not me, I love a cocktail at any time of the year, and this one works a treat. If I could get away with using just one word in my review to describe this gin… AMAZING! The cocktail kit itself is equally impressive and a very nice touch.
I’m no gin expert; however, we joined a gin club in the middle of last year and it’s been great fun learning about the different ones. Like so many others, I love gin, especially Tanqueray. In the bar in my garden, there is a dedicated area specifically for my gin, tonics and other cocktail-making items, and this kit made a great addition, especially the glass and jug. One of my favourites and all-time classics is the Martini, so I didn’t waste any time putting this kit to the test. I wasn’t disappointed.
Everything comes in a beautifully designed presentation box which is stunning. It has an extremely premium look and feel to it, as do the contents of the kit. The illustrations show a variety of botanicals, which is in keeping with the brand’s gin, and the box is finished with a gorgeous, vibrant red seal.

There are a few recipe suggestions printed on the inside of the box, which is perfect as everything is kept together in one place. You don’t have to be an expert mixologist to make cocktails as the instructions are clear with the advice on how much to use in each recipe.
So, what can I say about the smell and taste? I know I used one word… AMAZING but… OMG! When you open the bottle, the smell is gorgeous, a real kick to the sinuses and those receptors that pick up the complex botanical notes and other ingredients such as juniper berries, coriander, sweet and angelica liquorice that Tanqueray is renowned for. Alongside with citrus fruits such as pink grapefruit, lime and orange, mixed with chamomile flowers in the “Tiny Ten” still, which is where the gin gets its name.
What makes this brand my favourite is that it’s extraordinarily clean, crisp and smooth and, in my opinion, is the best brand for making a martini.
The bottle is a gorgeous design which oozes elegance, style and grace and is a great addition to any bar.
This is a truly stylish and sophisticated glass, perfect for any cocktail and especially the Martini cocktail. Think Audrey Hepburn when it comes to style — that’s exactly the vibe you get here.
This is equally stylish and sophisticated with a cut glass design and pattern and is a very weighty jug, making it strong and sturdy and perfect for measurements.
A much needed accessory for straining cocktails to give you that perfectly silky smooth finish that all cocktails need.
Again, another much needed accessory which is used for measuring your ingredients to make a cocktail.
It really is worth every penny.
