The Pinkfong Baby Shark Music Water Park is an interactive bath toy designed to make bath time fun for your little one. The toy arrived in cardboard packaging however with additional plastic which was not particularly environmentally friendly and was unnecessary. It was easy to clip together and install against the side of bath. The toy makes use of the typical suction cups to hold it in place, which whilst easy to use, are not known for being particularly sturdy, as such it was quite common for the toy to fall off, especially when my toddler started playing. The interactive element of the toy comes from the orange star which can be rotated to play the familiar baby shark theme tune – this was easy for my toddler to master after a few attempts, and he took delight in turning it off and on. I was initially disappointed at the length of the theme tune as it seemed to stop after a few seconds – I however was pleased to see it was because the toy was still in ‘try’ mode and once turned to ‘on’ mode the familiar tune was at least a few verses.

The toy, as expected, is waterproof and therefore can withstand being completely submerged – it does however sound very muffled after being submerged and requires a shake to clear the water from the integrated speaker. The toy also has additional elements to make it fun and engaging for your child. I was particularly impressed by the shark which was included – this was activated by moisture to enable it to wiggle its tail fin and move around in the water. My toddler quickly got the hang of letting the shark slide down the slide and fall into the water, only to be pleased when the shark started to move. One critique of the toy itself would be that it appears rather flimsy and so I don’t think it will stand up to much ‘toddler destruction’ which is a shame given this would be the intended age group. It comes in two parts with the main part and the additional water slide which are required to be clipped together. I think the design could be more durable if it were one part only as it is made from hard wearing plastic. The toy has additional features such as a water-spouting octopus and a spinning wheel that can be activated by pouring water on it with the included water bucket. My toddler loves playing in the water and this toy does make bath time a fun and interactive activity for all. Be warned however the baby shark theme tune is very catchy and you will find yourself humming it long after your child has gone to bed.

Rating: I would give this toy 3.5/5 – I think it is appealing to little ones with good sound quality however is limited by its flimsy appearance. Certainly, it adds fun to bath time and would is recommended to for any little one who loves music and playing with water.
