Lush Northern Lights Soap Review

Lush Northern Lights Soap

www.lush.co.uk

We have an ongoing obsession, here at Lush, with the Northern Lights.  Many a trip has been taken, but rarely have they been observed. Meaning they have become something of a holy grail for us.

So yet again, we are left trying to recreate them in soap, rather than watch them in real life. But it does mean that you get amazing wonderful soaps from us.

This soap was made by Wesley, who perfectly matched the colours of the auroras he watched on the internet, and then found a special way to pour the soap to represent the natural light show.

Then Pia, our trainee perfumer from Finland, came up with an electric, fresh pine and lime perfume to finish off Wesley’s work.  Together they will make you feel like you are in the crisp climes of the arctic circle, with nature’s amazing light show performing about you.

Who said soap was boring?

I couldn’t pinpoint the scent which came through the wrapper of this soap.  Was it fruit, spice or herbs?

First appearance reminded me of a piece of pineapple, with a hint of red and green at the edge. (Or even traffic lights!)

I didn’t need to make a lather, the soap once wet was very creamy and felt smooth on my skin.

A delicate hint of perfume, which I still can’t pinpoint, lingered on my skin. Overall I did enjoy this soap.

The first word I'd use to describe this soap, is ILLUMINOUS!  It's a very bright yellow and green colour. It smells clean and fresh, as you'd come to expect from LUSH products with a definite citrus hit – lime I think.

Once used on wet hands, it was very easy to lather and was very creamy.  It was easy to rinse off and left my hands feeling soft and smelling gorgeous for a long while afterwards.

I loved the smell and feel of this soap, but the colour was a bit too 'bright' for my taste! Don't think it would 'go' with my bathroom!

Wow this really Is lush!

The natural soap comes wrapped in a wax paper and when I opened it I was surprised by the bright colour and the lemony smell was lovely. I used it after swimming and it made my skin feel soft, fresh and clean and really removed the smell of chorline from my skin which other soaps have failed to do in the past. I'm very glad we have a Lush shop in Manchester and I'm looking forward to trying some more products very soon. I'd use this soap again and again I loved it!

The first thing that hits you when using this soap is the smell, it is divine. It smells very clean, like pine, lime and cypress scents, however it is a strong citrus smell that is the most dominant, and for me was the key seller as it is one of my favourites. The northern lights soap was produced by two of the LUSH creators who visited Finland’s Northern Lights and were inspired by what they saw. The colours are so vibrant and spectacular, and it leaves you feeling fresh and ready for the day ahead. It was my first time using LUSH products and it certainly won’t be my last.

I was really pleased to have received this soap as I am a massive 'Lush' fan.

The soap came wrapped in Lush labelled paper, and came with a very distinctive aroma of fresh pine and citrus which reminded of a wintry forest.

When I unwrapped the soap I was met by a very brightly coloured soap in an array of colours, there were yellows, greens and reds which portrayed the Northern Lights beautifully.

When I used the soap it produced a lovely creamy lather and left my skin silky soft and smelling clean and fresh. As the day went on my hands still had that lovely aroma from the soap, which is what I expected from a Lush soap.

Even though I liked the smell, I did however find it a little overpowering when I first opened it. But on a plus note when I entered my bathroom I was met by the delighful aroma of the soap so not only do my hands smell 'LUSH' my bathroom does too!

I would recommend this to anyone who likes a soap that leaves your hands really soft and has a strong long lasting aroma.
