The Suchef family is already represented in London, with locations in St. Paul’s, Farringdon, Aldgate and Old Street. I was very fortunate that I was invited to review the new recently opened Suchef located on Fetter Lane, just off Fleet Street, London, EC4A 1EQ for lunch. I can only imagine the chain growing bigger and bigger as I would rate my experience a full 5 out of 5!

Suchef eating experience combines life-enhancing boost of healthy eating with the super-quick convenience of fast food. Suchef focus on quality, seasonal, classy and simple hot and cold food but with a twist. You can choose to eat in or take-away the food to eat at your desk. A fast and healthy service. As it was a lovely Summer day, we chose to eat alfresco style leisurely outside on a bench nearby whilst enjoying the rays!

After I introduced myself as being a reviewer for What’s Good to Do, my guest and myself was given a very warm welcome and handed a menu. The menu was very easy on the eye, plenty of choice ranging from 8 exclusive Signature Boxes which included either Chicken or Salmon Fillet on rice mix with Asian coleslaw, spring onion, red chilli and coriander. These ranged from £6.95 to £7.95 each and were huge servings I would easily say enough for 2 people to share. Another option was a salad Signature Box, again either Chicken or Salmon ranging from £5.95 to £6.95 there were 4 options of salads to choose from also.

From the Teriyaki Box to Coconut Curry and the Healthy Beetroot Salad, each Signature Box gives you the option to select either succulent Salmon or a whole Chicken breast in combination with sensational sauces, sides, garnish and rice. A new range of zingy home-made lemonades including Original, Pink Raspberry and Mountain Flower Iced Tea was on the menu, providing the perfect thirst quencher. There was also a good selection of teas and coffees and smoothies and Frappes as well as water, juices and other soft drinks. So all in all a really good choice, something for everyone.  There were also options for Hot Pots, Soups and mini bites.

The Suchef name pays tribute to the work of the Sous Chef, the second-in-command and often the engine room of the entire kitchen. The Sous Chef is responsible for the freshness and vibrancy of the preparation work, all of the seasoning and vegetables that give the meal its zing and kick, as well as the presentation of every dish. With stylish packaging and commitment to cramming every mouthful with as much health-giving goodness as possible, Suchef certainly suits its name perfectly. The food is cooked in a modernist way that uses sous vide technology to seal in the flavour without damaging the nutritional element of the food. No high temperatures to break down vitamins and minerals. No escape of valuable flavour under vacuum which means more of naturally enhanced flavour.

My guest and I chose a selection of items from the menu, we enjoyed and shared a Hot Pot Green Thai Vegetable dish. This was extremely tasty and of high quality and the portion huge. We also sampled a Brie & Chorizo Wrap, this was very fresh and again a lovely generous size. My guest also had Smoked Makeral, Quail Eggs and Coleslaw salad and Beetroot, Goat’s Cheese and Egg, these salads were priced at £2.75 each.

My honest opinion of the menu was a very reasonably priced choice of dishes, all fresh and good sized portions. I liked the fact you could choose a few different things without breaking the bank. I in particular liked the mini bite selection, this consisted of Carrot and Hummus, Celery, Cucumber and Tzatziki, Mixed Olives and Feta Cheese as well as various yoghurts. All of these items were only £1.00 each.

Suchef also serve breakfast at every location. Check out www.sealedinflavour.com/menu to find out more.

Suchef also offer a handy and free local delivery service with a minimum order £15.
