After advice from my dentist I changed from a manual tooth brush to an electric one a long time ago but changing to a sonic toothbrush is taking teeth cleaning to a whole new level. Right from taking this sonicyou toothbrush out of it’s box a knew this was going to be something different. It felt more solid and purposeful than the toothbrushes I was used to and looked so elegant and sleek, the Rolls Royce of toothbrushes.
The main difference between this toothbrush and what I had been using was instead of the brush head rotating on the sonicyou it vibrated very quickly. The first few times I used it the vibrations tickled the inside of my mouth, but I soon got used to that. The brush head is also much smaller and this makes it easier to get into the hard to reach places. The timer on the toothbrush is set for two minutes and there is a very short break after each 30 seconds so can move onto the next quarter of your mouth. This makes sure you are always cleaning your teeth for the recommended time. This is something I always find difficult without a timer.
The toothbrush has three different modes: sensitive, clean or white, the main difference being the number of strokes per minute. As recommended in the instructions I started off in the sensitive mode. This is 30,000 strokes per minute. It’s very quiet, just a gentle hum and is completely waterproof so you could use it in the shower which wouldn’t be a bad idea as one thing I found was this brush really foams up your toothpaste and can easily spill out of your mouth. This clever toothbrush will remember the last mode you used and automatically go back to it. The bristles will fade to let you know when the head needs replacing and the other side of the brush head is ridged to make it a tongue cleaner. Another feature that I really like is the battery lasts 300 days from one charge so no having to take a charger with you on holiday.
Like all the finer things in life, once you’ve tried them there’s no going back and I will never go back to using my old electric toothbrush now. My teeth feel much smoother and cleaner and already after just a few days use I can already see a reduction in plaque build up. Can’t wait to see if my dentist notices on my next visit.
