Tonka Toys at ASDA Review

ASDA are now stocking a range of Tonka toys (now available in selected ASDA stores from £1.99 to £9.99), not yet online but coming soon) and we were lucky enough to receive some for review. So with very excited twins we opened the box and had received:

Tonka Diecast Big Rig
Tonka Diescast Monster Truck
Tonka Tinys Blind Garages
Tonka Tinys Three Pack
Tonka Toys Mini Playset (Car Crush Escape)

First up was the Tonka Diecast Big Rig (RRP: £6.99). This is a realistic looking truck in black and yellow and comes in two parts (cab and trailer). The cab is discast metal, while the trailer is plastic. It feels very good quality and is very study. This is the boys favourite item.

The Tonka Diescast Monster Truck (RRP: £6.99) again is diecast and excellent quality (and has a bit of weight to it). We received a yellow emergency vehicle with rotating ladder.

We also received the Car Crush Escape Mini Playset (Blast and Dash Quarry are also available). This has an RRP of £9.99. This is a playset for use with the Tonka Tinys and ours features a grabber that grabs the tiny cars and places them in the car crusher (which they escape from). The is a plastic playset and so far has stood up to the twins rough handling.

We also received the Tonka Tinys Blind Garages and Tinys Three Pack. These are miniature vehicles that easily fit into a child’s palm. The Blind Garages are a lorry container with liftable door that contains a vehicle. These are probably more suited for collecting, the twins didn’t show much interest in these (maybe the cars are a bit too small?).

Overall, the Tonka Toys at ASDA are good quality (especially the diecast models). The twins have had lots of fun playing with them. They are of excellent quality (nothing has been broken after a week of play).
