‘NOW That’s What I Call Legends’ is a double CD packed with songs from some of the most popular artists from the last few decades including U2, Elvis Presley, Sting and James Brown to name but a few. The CD’s contain a wide variety of different music genres such as, reggae, rock, pop, country and soul which means it is suitable for most people. Most of the songs featured are pre-millennium songs, so I do not think this CD would be suited for the under 20’s unless you really do appreciate music from this era.

I listened to the first CD whilst attempting to clean the kitchen but instead found myself digging out my air guitar and invisible drum kit! CD 1 is definitely more upbeat and as I am a big fan of 80’s music, I prefer this CD as the likes of Madonna, Whitney Houston, George Michael and Lionel Richie are featured. CD 2 features more of the ballads which are nice to sing along to, especially when driving about and nobody can hear the cat’s chorus screeching away! Some of the older generation songs are featured on this CD and I am not sure whether this is why at first glance, there appeared to be some songs I did not know. However, upon listening to the CD, those tracks I was unsure of became familiar music to my ears.

Overall this is a great CD for singing along to whilst driving, cleaning the house, passing time or for background music during a family meal. The only little niggle I have about it is that some of the artist songs do not appear to be their most popular. Bon Jovi’s Bad Medicine, for example, I think the majority of people would prefer Livin’ on a Prayer as it is better known. Apart from this, I would still listen to all the tracks and cannot think of a single song I would skip!

I would give this double CD compilation album 4 out of 5.
