“Henry Bell was established in 1825. They are a fourth generation family owned British business that is passionate about producing quality feeds. With over 175 years of experience they are very proud of their range of feeds and bird care accessories that have been specifically selected for the health and well-being of wild birds”
After lockdown and spending a lot of time in the garden my younger daughters have a newfound fascination with wild birds and we already have a bird bath in the garden. We do have a couple of bird feeders but these are attached to the sides of the shed and honestly do not get used by the birds much probably due to their location. The Henry Bell two arm complete feeding station totally solves this problem as it is freestanding and can be placed anywhere in the garden where it can be staked into the ground. It is part of Henry Bell’s Essential Range for wild bird care. The two arm complete feeding station includes an essential range superior seed feeder and essential range peanut feeder. It comes in parts but is really quick and simple to put together. The three poles easily slot together by pushing the button on the pole below and slotting the other pole onto it until it clicks together. The top part that holds the arms slots on top. Once positioned where you want it, you simply tighten the screw on the side to hold it in position. The arms simply slot into holes on the top piece and the feeders hang on the arms. It literally took a few minutes to assemble and no tools were needed. Made of metal in a cool grey colour. The added detailing on the top piece gives it an elegant look.

Instructions on the box advise you to position the feeding station out of the reach of predators and to clean the feeding areas regularly to help keep wild birds healthy. The seed and peanut feeder have a removable base for easy cleaning. We placed the feeding station half way down our garden and easily pushed it into our lawn using the stake on the bottom. Once constructed it measured 215cm high, 41.5cm width and support pole diameter is 2.2cm so ideal for big or small gardens. It is quite sturdy once staked fully into the grass. Great for feeding robin, sparrow and bullfinch.
The essential range superior seed feeder has bird perches which enables birds to feed for longer and feeding ports on either side. It has an angled base to support the flow of feed to the feeding ports. Both feeders have lift up hinged lids which makes them easy to fill.

I also received two large 2kg bags of feed to fill the feeders with. Henry Bell has over 175 years of experience and is passionate about the ingredients they use. They insist upon using the finest quality foods to ensure that the wild birds in your garden come back for more. Their feed is highly nutritious and developed for wild bird well being. Henry Bell Peanuts are of the highest quality. A traditional bird food they are full of energy, nutritionally rich and loved by a whole variety of birds. Peanuts can be enjoyed from the feeder all year round. Great for feeding blue tit, woodpecker and nuthatch. Henry Bell superior seed mix is a unique blend that is packed with energy and nutrition to keep your wild birds fuelled up all year round. Great for feeding house sparrow, dunnock and bullfinch. The superior seed mix can be used in feeders, bird tables or on the ground whilst the peanuts can only be used in feeders. I used these to fill the relevant feeder. To fill a feeder took approximately a quarter of the 2kg bag so there is plenty left for refilling. Once opened the feed needs to be stored in a cool, dry, dark place and in a sealed container.
With ever decreasing food resources for wild birds it is important to feed garden birds all year round.
We have had the feeding station up in the garden now for nearly a week and the kids have loved watching the birds feeding from it and even caught a cheeky squirrel hanging upside down from the arms of the feeding station, stealing some of the peanuts before sliding down the pole and running away.
Each Henry Bell feeder and accessory has been designed with care, understanding and consideration for the welfare of wild birds. At £14.99 for the complete feeding station which includes the feeders this is excellent value for money for a quality product. Henry Bell superior seed mix retails at £3.99 for 2kg and Henry Bell peanuts retails at £8.99 for 2kg.
