Although I don’t suffer from dry eyes I do often have very tired and ‘gritty’ eyes!  (Maybe due to a small cyst in my left eye which doesn’t give me any trouble but does occasionally rub on the eye lid or more likely the seven grandchildren I am lucky enough to have living very close and who I look after on numerous occasions!)  So I was very pleased to try out thera-tears Dry or Tired eye drops at home.

Product information:
They are described as 5 in 1 eyecare, Relieves, Protects, Hydrates, Soothes and Refreshers. There are benefits described in each pack –
“Find out more about the 5 in 1 benefits offered by each of our eyedrops…Say goodbye to confusion when searching for eye drops and hello to lasting relief.”
Thera tears offer 4 other products in this range which are:
Dry or Tired 50 + –eye drops.
Dry eye therapy—eye drops.
Overnight Restore—eye drops.
Screen eyes—eye drops.
There is something for everyone’s ‘condition’ regarding their eye care and the leaflet and box information was very clear.
Other information included both on the leaflet and their web site: www.theratears-ey.com which tells us that thera tears Dry and Tired eye drops are:
1, Formulated with hyaluronic acid to lubricate and replenish dry or tired eyes.
2, Contains witch hazel to soothe and reduce puffiness. (Well known for eye health and provides extra softness and soothing properties for the eyes.)
3, Features Gingko Biloba to help protect eyes from free radicals such as sunlight. (Gingko biloba contains antioxidant polyphenols that help protect the eye by combatting the damaging effects of those free radicals.)
4, Preservative-free on the eye to prevent irritation.
5, Contact lens friendly.

After receiving the product, it was only a couple of days later that I felt the need to use the thera tears dry or tired eye drops due to very tired eyes (the result of returning from a holiday to Greece which involved a very late flight, which was delayed by 55 minutes, that was nearly 4 hours long and then a drive from Manchester to Liverpool!).  So, the following morning I re-read the instructions, following them I tipped my head back and put two drops in each eye. They were very easy to use and the small nozzle made them easy to direct right into the eye.  There was just a cold sensation and immediate relief from the ‘grittiness’ I could feel previously.  My eyes were a bit ‘watery’ but I expected this as they could be used for dry eyes as well.  The relief did last until the afternoon and as you can use them one or more times a day, I put them in again which again resulted in immediate relief.

I have mentioned the benefits to my son who has hay fever but unfortunately he only suffers in June so didn’t need them at this time!  However due to a brilliantly long use by date (as long as they haven’t been opened!) he has put them with all his other medication he uses for his hay fever.)

You can purchase tera tears dry or tired eye drops (and the other products in the range) at www.theratears-ey.com, Tesco’s, Boots, Superdrug and Amazon.
Prices range from £4.99 to £10.99.
