Wikaniko Moringa Oil Review

Reviewed by Dawn Watson
I love anything to do with facial oils, creams lotions and potions and was delighted to be sent this bottle of Moringa Oil from Wikaniko to trial. I have to be honest I had never heard of Moringa Oil before or of the actual seed itself but I was very curious to find out more and discovered that usually this product is harvested in the Far East or in tropical climates. However, Wikaniko actually grow and produce their own Moringa on their farm in Spain to ensure that it is meticulously cared for and grown in the best possible way and to ensure it is fully organic and eco-friendly. With only the purest form used for their oil and capsules.
Moringa Oil is sold as ‘the best anti-ageing oil’ in the world – a bold claim so I decided to trial this for at least a month to see if there was any truth in this bold statement. Well a month later I am smitten with this amazing, wonderful versatile oil.
It comes packaged in a pumped plastic bottle, ideal for carrying with you and although it is a very plain, not entirely inviting packaging, the product itself makes up for the ‘quiet’ exterior. I wasn’t at first too keen on the smell of the oil, it smelt, in my opinion, sort of like vegetable oil but I quickly got used to this and now I don’t even notice it. I decided to use only at night as a night oil as I was worried it would be too oily to use as a morning moisturiser. One big pump is all I use to put all over my face and neck and décolletage and a little does certainly go a long way. I love how it just glides on and quickly soaks in. Now I do have slightly oily skin but this did not make it oilier in fact, I would go as far as to say it makes my skin smoother and easier to put make up on in the morning. Over the weeks I have noticed that my wrinkles around my eyes are not so deep and seem plumper. My breakouts didn’t really happen and my pores are slightly smaller, I am sure! I just like how it makes my skin look. Its excellent to remove make up too and kinder and gentler on my skin too.
But the other benefits and uses of this oil are what impresses me more. I will continue using this as a night oil to work its magic but I have also noticed that its antibacterial properties have helped my teenage daughters sore red spots by soothing them quickly and allow them to heal quickly too. A cut my youngest daughter has around her finger nail soothed and healed quicker. I read you could use as a hair cleanser and as my teenage daughter’s hair is extremely course I thought we would try it on that as she suffers from dandruff too. We used it three times, just pumping a few pumps of oil onto my hands and massaging on her scalp. It has certainly helped clear up the dry scalp and helped make her hair smoother and look glossier. Perfect! And now I use it whenever I feel it would help. I like to massage into my cuticles at night too to see if it will help strengthen them. I’ve used on a sore shoulder and it seemed to feel easier and not as painful due to the anti-inflammatory effects of the oil.
A wonderful all-round oil and it seems to last and last and a 100ml bottle for under £20 is really great value for such an all-round wonder pot of goodness. I love it and will definitely be purchasing again.
