The Simba Orbit single-size weight blankets are available in two weights, 15 & 20 lbs. The blanket should be approximately 10% of your body weight.

The science behind the Orbit is that the pressure from the weighted blanket creates pressure therapy that helps to relax the nervous system by reducing stress and encouraging the body to unwind. This helps your body to relax fully from head to toe. It enables a peaceful night’s sleep.

The blanket comes with a 100% cotton removable cover that is breathable and machine washable
The inner body of the body is filled with mini glass beads that are spread evenly throughout by being contained in small sealed sections, which allows even pressure when the blanket is on you.
The outer that covers the mini beads are super soft with a soft outer.

A weighted blanket is something I’ve always wanted to try to see if it would help remedy the restless and unsettled nights that I sometimes experience, especially when stressed.

The first thing I noticed about the blanket was how heavy it was, even though it was 10% of my body weight.
I like the separate cover of the blanket, it felt lovely and soft, and most of all it is machine washable.
The cover had ties throughout so that it could be attached to loops on the weighted blanket to keep the cover and blanket in place.

The first night tried the blanket; I only lasted with it on for a couple of hours. Initially, it felt nice, and I could see how using the blanket would be soothing. However, into the night, I had become cold and had to add additional layers to the blanket to stay warm, but this set-up was too restrictive for me.
Due to the extra cold weather, I have yet to find a layering method that not only keeps me warm but also isn’t too restrictive overall.

I have instead been using the weighted blanket as an extra layer when relaxing and have found that it helps to relax me more quickly, sometimes finding myself wanting to doze off.

I think to get full use of the blanket that, I need to build up the usage over a sustained period of time and will then hopefully reap the benefits long term.

The blanket is unsuitable for children or people with certain medical conditions, and I highly recommend checking the website before purchasing.

If I had received the blanket as a Christmas present, I would have been delighted, and I think it makes an excellent present for an adult with a hectic life who finds it hard to unwind at night and have a restful sleep.
The blanket is high quality and feels luxurious to be touched. The extra features such as a removable and washable outer cover are an added bonus, along with the ties and loops to keep the inner and outer perfectly connected together.

Rating: Overall I would give the blanket a 4/5.
