Jeunvie Collagen Eye Gel – Anti Ageing Review

I love trying new products so I was  delighted to be gifted the 30ml Juenvie Collagen Eye Gel to try.  Any product that claims to slow the ageing process is attractive to me as my skin is definitely on the mature side, so I couldn’t wait to give it a go.  I normally use an eye cream rather than a gel and wondered how a lighter product would work on my wrinkles, bags like suitcases and dark circles. 

From first glance, this product looks like one I would be drawn to when shopping.  The white, green and silver packaging has great shelf appeal and looks almost understated, yet sophisticated at the same time.  Inside the cardboard outer the gel comes in a sleek white pump dispenser with a silver base and cap.  I am increasingly seeking out natural products and this eye gel boasts being both pure and natural with organic rose hip and rose oil amongst its ingredients.  It is also paraben and sulphate free, suitable for vegans and all the packaging is recyclable.

The Juenvie website says ‘This Eye Gel is from the De La Mer range that is based on marine extracts including seaweed – a natural marine wonder that helps slow the ageing process, combats skin irritation and relieves inflammation. The products are packed with vitamins, minerals, trace elements and amino acids that are essential in maintaining healthy and youthful skin.

This Eye Gel soothes and protects the delicate eye area and faces dark shadows, keeping the skin firm.

Ingredients: Aqua, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera), Sodium Benzoate, Vegetable Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Collagen (Marine Collagen), Polysorbate-20, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Rosehip Oil, Rose, Frankincense, Helichrysum.’

Could this product live up to such expansive claims?  

Here goes…. I find a pump dispenser an efficient way to get the right amount of product and this one perfectly dispenses a small amount of gel which is more than plenty for both eyes.  The gel is unremarkable to look at and has no perceivable smell.  I prefer unscented products as I can sometimes get a reaction from perfumes.  It was very easy to apply and quickly absorbed into my delicate under eye area.  I found it to have an immediate cooling and smoothing effect on my skin and had no adverse effects which I can sometimes get when trying new products.  After a few days using morning and evening I was happy with the results and think I could see a slight improvement to my fine lines.  Perhaps with extended use there would be a more discernible change.  Although the marketing information claims that it helps dark circles,  I did not find any change in this issue for me.  

In summary, this is a lovely natural product which feels good on the skin.  I would recommend it to anyone wishing to opt out of nasty additives to their beauty routine and  with early signs of ageing.
