Red Hot Chilli Peppers Knebworth Park Review

Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Knebworth Park

Reviewed by Sara Binstead

On Saturday 23rd June, my friend and I were lucky enough to go to Knebworth Park to see the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. When we arrived all of the marshals we spoke to were so helpful and friendly, they knew exactly where we needed to go to park (we were very relieved to find it was very close to the stage) and told us where the box office was.

When we got to the box office they knew who I was representing and the lady who gave us our wristbands told us that we had use of a private bar and toilets which was good!! We went over to the bar first to get a drink and go to the toilet, I have to just put a few words about the toilets as they were the cleanest ones I have ever seen at a gig and the standard was maintained till the end. We then proceeded into the arena and started walking around, as we did the first band came on, Reverend and the Makers, we both agreed that they were really good and we enjoyed them. The arena had a fun fair which we thought was good and there was a lot of clothes stalls which we spent a lot of time walking around and around!

There was a variety of food stalls which were offering a wide range to choose from. As usual the prices were high, but not unreasonable. I personally wasn’t over struck by the second band, The Wombats. The third act was Dizzee Rascal who was amazing and really entertained the crowd and I felt was a good choice.

The change overs between the acts was done really smoothly and quickly and was really impressive. When the Red Hot Chilli Peppers came on the place became electric, they were absolutely amazing, I really felt as if they were doing a personal set just for me as they played all my favourite songs and they did an amazing show.

Now for a couple of negatives, We felt that the stage was in the wrong place as it was down at the bottom of a hill and the screens were too low and was difficult to see anything. Saying that, not sure if they could have had the stage any other place.

As an overall experience it was absolutely amazing and the good outweighed the bad but such a vast majority that they really don’t matter, it was so well organised and ran so smoothly that it was really noticeable.
