Spartacus Rebellion by Ben Kane Review

Spartacus Rebellion by Ben Kane, is a Roman themed action packed book which is very descriptive, realistic and leaves you on the edge of your seat. Ben Kane really does know his stuff when it comes to Roman History, and his research really shows through in every detail.

Spartacus Rebellion makes you feels as though you’re there fighting and breathing in the fight with the main character as he makes on the might of Rome. My personal favourite part is when Carbus and Vavio sneak into the town.

It describes the ordinary life of a random legionary but Ben Kane takes it further than ever in everything.

The Spartacus we meet is a general who is a genius at the art of war, he can inspire a disparate group of men to achieve results that rocked the ancient world. Utterly ruthless he has no qualms about ordering the deaths of people who get in his way. He also inspires unwavering loyalty in his close followers and they will give up their lives to protect him.

You get the feeling that the author has really enjoyed writing these books and I must warn you that the final climatic battle and harrowing walk along the Via Appia is one of the most emotional scenes I have read to date. I cannot recommend this book enough, it is a fabulous ending to the series.

Such a shame it was the last book.
