Let me just make it clear that I hate bras, detest them! Absolutely, totally cannot stand the things. They’re uncomfortable and can be itchy especially when I sweat. Underwire pokes and prods, padding looses shape or ends up out of place and becomes annoying and non wired, non padded bras are hard to find, harder still now I need a larger band size without a large cup size, at least in the places I tend to shop. In thirty years of wearing the them when I must, I have never found a bra that was not a chore to wear.

The Sloggi Zero Feel Bra intrigued me as I was extremely sceptical of the zero feel claims. There is no way you could present me with a bra that fits correctly and me not be extremely aware that I’m wearing it. Not a chance!  I was sent my sample to arrive on a day I would be home to ensure I got the parcel. The packaging stated Sloggi on the bag so there was no wondering what I was going to find inside.  My bra and briefs were wrapped in tissue paper and sealed with a sticker saying “pants but in a good way” which made me smile.

The Sloggi Zero Feel Hipster Briefs and Zero Feel Soft Bra I received are part of the Zero Feel campaign and are described as seamless, invisible  and “nothing but pure lightness and soft cosiness on your skin” . The materials used in the fabric are 70% Polyamide, and 30% Elastane. I was a little worried about this as I’ve found non cotton briefs to be troublesome when I’ve tried them in the past and thus I’m careful to ensure I buy cotton only.

The campaign page for the Zero Feel range states “They’re among us but they’re invisible. Free from seams and forged with super-technology. Giving you comfort and support while vanquishing evil underwires and red marks on skin. It’s time you feel this unfastened power for yourself”

The range includes a number of styles of brief and several different tyres of bra and tops all in a range of colours to choose from.

Could these statements really be true? Having received my parcel and found the material to be soft and pleasant to feel in my hands I was perhaps a little less sceptical when I came to actually wearing the items.  I put them on along with my clothing and proceeded to carry on with my day. Surprisingly, or perhaps not given the aims of the range is to be zero feel, I actually managed to forget I was wearing a bra. For the first time in forever I wasn’t rushing to put my pyjamas back on and get comfortable as soon as I got home for the night. I had managed to wear the bra and briefs for a full day without being bothered by seams (there are none), labels (there’s only one), itchiness, smells, tightness, general uncomfortableness, straps falling down or even the padding in the cups irritating me!

This was a first for me! I knew I wouldn’t be able to face my normal bra and briefs the next day so I decided to do a load of laundry allowing me to wear these again. The washing instructions say machine wash at 40 degrees and don’t tumble dry so, another first for me, I dutifully pulled the underwear out of the washing pile before putting everything else in the dryer.  The padding in the cups of the bra had shifted a little in the washing machine but I found it very easy to adjust it back into the proper position thanks to a little gap in the stitching that is presumably there just for this reason but would also allow the removal of the padding should you desire. The material has a very light and thin feel and air dried quite quickly in my kitchen.

I proceeded to wear the Sloggi Zero Feel products for day two, hand washed them that night and the next so I could wear them on day three and day four and on day five I did another load of washing machine laundry so I can wear them again as soon as possible. This time through the machine one of the pads fell out of the bra and the other one folded completely in half, however again this was easy to resolve and in no time I had them both in the correct place again. Annoyingly I had to go out and leave them drying so I had to resort to my usual bra and briefs. Such a contrast to the comfort of the last few days!

This contrast was so great I headed to the Sloggi website and made a few purchases! The zero feel range is available to buy from the Sloggi website and at the time of writing some colours are in the sale and there is a birthday discount code available to use too, if you’d like to take advantage of that making them more affordable. There is a good selection of other ranges available on the website too. I found the process of creating an account and purchasing from the website straightforward.
