Blackburn Cathedral hosts Military Wives Choir and Kings Division band concert in aid of SSAFA
SSAFA, the UK’s oldest military charity providing lifelong support to our Forces and their families, is celebrating the 60th Anniversary of H.M. The Queen’s accession and her patronage of SSAFA with a special charity concert at Blackburn Cathedral at on Saturday 28th September 2013 at 7pm. The programme will feature a sensational programme of song by the renowned Military Wives Choir based in Dishforth and a resounding performance by the Kings Division Military Band.
The concert has been generously supported by Blackburn Cathedral and several local companies. Chairman of SSAFA Lancashire and concert organiser Malcolm Smith MBE enthused
‘We have had tremendous support from local businesses to help stage this event. We are now looking forward to welcoming concert goers to the Cathedral so that we can raise the rafters with music and raise vital funds to support SSAFA’s work in the community.’
