Revamp Forever Love Progloss Radiance Dryer & Straightener Gift Set Review

As we head into February, Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching so thoughts turn to romance.  Usually it’s a very understated affair in our house (I’m lucky to get a card) but I do always secretly hope that one year my partner might surprise me with a special gift.

The Forever Love Progloss Radiance Hairdryer and Straightener Limited Edition Gift Set from Revamp is definitely the kind of gift I would love to receive for valentine’s day, or any other special occasion for that matter and I was very happy to be asked to try it out.

After a quick look at their website, I could see that Revamp is a London-based brand that was created with “the aim of putting hairstyling and professional results within everyone’s reach”.  They well a wide range of professional quality hair products.

I was excited to receive the large cardboard box from the courier and couldn’t wait to open it.  I wasn’t disappointed, the Forever Love Gift Set was in an impressive red and gold presentation box which was very visually appealing and showed pictures and details of the contents.  I was pleased to see that there was no excess plastic used in the packaging as all the items were wrapped in paper that could be recycled.

Inside the box were the Progloss 2500w Hairdryer and a Progloss Ultra X-Shine Ceramic Straightener along with a velvet beauty bag, a silk scrunchie, claw clip, paddle brush and a heat mat for the straighteners.  The straighteners, hairdryer and beauty bag were all in a lovely dark red colour with a gold trim.  This made the products look very luxurious and special and added that extra special touch.  The Progloss dryer and straighteners are both infused with keratin, argan and coconut oil to add smoothness and shine, and they also use infrared technology meaning they are less likely to damage the hair.  I was hopeful that I would be able to recreate a “just stepped out of the salon” look at home!

Firstly, I tried the hairdryer, which was fairly compact and lightweight.  It was also easy to hold. It had various heat and speed settings, along with a detachable nozzle.  I was impressed by how powerful it was, it dried my hair quickly and my hair felt smooth afterwards.  That’s no mean feat as my hair is very thick and usually takes ages to dry.  The only negative point I found was the position of the cold shot button on the handle as I did find myself accidently pressing it whilst drying, but that is a very minor criticism as it’s a great hair dryer.

Next, I tried the straighteners and I was really impressed.  They were super easy to use, with a variety of temperatures to choose from (up to 235 degrees) selected with arrow buttons, the temperature could also be adjusted during use.  I really liked the fact that you could see the temperature increasing on the digital display as they heated up and they reached temperature super-fast in only a matter of seconds.  The straighteners have large plates which went through my hair very smoothly, with no snagging.  I was able to straighten fairly large sections of my hair at a time so it was also very quick to do my whole head.  As I mentioned earlier I do have very thick long hair and it usually takes me quite a bit of time to straighten it with my usual straighteners.  The results were also impressive, my hair looked smooth and shiny as promised and I even had a couple of people at work asking if I’d been to the hairdresser – result!

Overall this set would make a lovely gift for a beauty lover or someone special on valentine’s day.  I honestly can’t find anything negative to write about it.  The additional extras like the scrunchie and hairbrush just make the set a little more special.  The cost is fairly high at £199.99, although it is currently on sale for £99.99, however it is a quality product and worth paying that little bit extra as a special gift for someone in your life, or even for yourself.
