Today I was given the opportunity to review at Prezzo Italian Restaurant at Meridian Leisure Park, Leicester.
Prezzo Italian Restaurants are a national brand and on most high streets across the UK, they opened their first restaurant in London in 2000, and in May of this year they rebranded themselves to as we now know Prezzo Italian.
The Prezzo Italian Restaurant I have chosen to visit is the one along the A563 at Meridian Leisure Park in Leicester. Meridian Leisure Park, has ample free parking which is always a bonus, with the Prezzo Italian situated between the Superbowl and the Vue Cinema, so great for a quiet lunch or a fun night out. Opening times are 11.00 – 22.00 seven days a week.
My first impressions of the restaurant was how clean and inviting it looked. We were greeted straight away by the restaurant host and given our choice of seats. She gave us the menus and went through all of the offers available. You can order and pay online via the QR code, or if you prefer, or do not have the app, you can order via your restaurant host.
Because I was reviewing the restaurant I did ask to see all of the menus they have on offer throughout the week and she very kindly supplied them all including 3D glasses to read the children’s menu and a Gabby’s Dolls house crown which is a promotion they have on at present with the movie. I never realised how many menus they had, some are for group bookings, one is just for Red Letter Day vouchers, then there are set menus and then the A la Carte menu. The set menus vary in price, so a lunch time special of 2 courses is from £13.50, if you have the app, the first two tables of two people can claim a free lunch.
They also have soup and a panini for £8.99, and a different set menu for 2 courses £19.75 and 3 courses £24.75. Alongside their A la Carte menu which is on all day. We were very impressed with the Gluten free menu which pretty much mirrors the regular menu at no extra cost, they also have a good selection of Vegan and Vegetarian meals. One of the menus is only available in the Meridian store.
The children’s menus have been well thought out with two menus available; one is for 2 – 8 year olds priced at 2 courses for £8.50 and 3 courses for £ 9.50, then 8- 12 years old priced at £12.00 and 3 courses for £14.00. However during school holidays they are offering free children’s 2 course meals up to 12 years old with an adult meal(t & c apply see online) They are currently running a special menu with Gabby’s Dolls house the movie.
For those who enjoy an alcoholic beverage with their meal there are also deals to be had as well including bottomless cocktails for £24.99 and bottomless non/low and regular beer and cider for £21.95. I did not know but they also do a bottomless brunch for £35.00 per person.
The host was very attentive but gave us plenty of time to go over all of the menus before ordering. We did not have to wait long for our drinks or starters; we went simple with garlic bread and mozzarella.
Again the host was lovely checking that everything was alright, as she did on all the other tables, our mains arrived pipping how, perfectly seasoned and nicely presented, I can highly recommend the Tuscan BBQ Chicken pizza. The portion sizes were excellent. It’s hard to leave there hungry. We thought it rude to leave without trying dessert so I went for the lotus biscuit cheese cake and my partner the lemon meringue pie both delicious and not small portions. At no point during our meal did we feel rushed. It was a very relaxed and enjoyable meal, the whole restaurant felt relaxed and inviting, a great place to meet friends and catch up. The restaurant host was really friendly, very well presented and knowledgeable, attentive without being intrusive which is a skill. The chef and the kitchen were clean as was the restaurant and amenities.
I think that the prices at Prezzo Italian Restaurants are reasonable, the food was tasty, fresh and they were good portions, there is always money to be saved if you look out for their offers such as 50% off the gluten free menu on a Wednesday or 50% of the vegan/ vegetarian menu on a Monday. If you download their app you can receive a code for 25% off your food bill until the 4th December, along with other offers. The only thing that I really do not like and I think most restaurants are doing it now is, they add a service charge automatically to your bill. You can ask for it to be taken off which a lot of people do not know, or they do not like to ask. Personally I would rather tip my host myself.
You can also enjoy Prezzo Italian at home as they are on just eat, Deliveroo and Prezzo.Co.UK
We really enjoyed the whole experience today and would happily recommend the Meridian Leisure Park Prezzo Italian to anyone. If you’re looking for a birthday or Christmas gift, you can treat someone special to a meal as Prezzo sells gift cards. You can also purchase a Red Letter gift for Prezzo Italian.
Due to the host, food, cleanliness and atmosphere as a whole, I give Prezzo Italian, at Meridian Leisure Park, Leicester 5/5.
