Diggerland is a Digger theme park – easily accessible from the M62 – where you can ride or drive real diggers. Admission costs £17 per person, children under 90cm high enter for free (but would not be big enough to go on the rides by themselves.)

We arrived at the park and I am not sure who was more excited – my son and his friend, both, aged seven or me, aged forty! The staff were all friendly and we were pointed in the right direction of the park – I was not sure what to expect but the first ride we came to was some small diggers that the boys were able to drive themselves, they were almost beside themselves with excitement. After this we headed around park, all the activities were obviously digger related but some were ones on which you were in control of a digger to dig or to knock down skittles. The highlight for the boys was definitely the spin dizzy – where you are lifted fifty foot high and then spun round at speed. You could go on the rides as many times as you liked – meaning this was good value for money especially as it was quite quiet when we went.

I was impressed by how friendly everyone was and with the kids as well.

I thought this was a great place to bring kids aged 6+ – yes it is a pricey day out, but it definitely a different and fun kind of adventure park and well worth the entrance fee as you can ride on things as many times as you like. I would recommend and I asked the kids what they would say about the day out in the car on the way home –the reply…… “it was awesome!”

We visited the Yorkshire Diggerland but you can also visit in Devon, Durham and Kent.
