PetSafe – Deluxe Crystal Litter Box System Review

THIS ITEM WAS GIFTED TO THE REVIEWER FOR THE PURPOSES OF WRITING THE REVIEW. ALL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ARE THE REVIEWER'S OWN.

I have had cats for over 20 years and I have never seen a cat litter tray  quite like this before.

I have two cats and they are both 11 years old, they do not venture far and are very set in their ways so I was very interested to see how they would adapt to their

new litter tray.

The Deluxe Crystal Litter Box system comes in a very sturdy box with a 20 page instruction booklet.

Pages 1 – 5 are in English.

The  box consists of a  dark grey vented base and a lighter grey surround  which fits on top of the base. Also included is a pee pad , two bags of crystal litter and a

scoop with a hanger.

The instructions are very straight forward . The surround fits very easily onto the base. The maximum height of the tray is 28cm at the back and dips to 20cm at the front.

It is 45cm long and 34cm wide –  this is no longer than a normal cat little tray.

The base is vented which allows air to flow through the tray to stop any nasty smells to linger in the litter.

The surround has an anti tracking grid which helps to keep the litter inside the tray.

There is a pull out tray at the front of the box where the pee pad sits and it is very easy to pull in and out  and the pee pad easily fits into the tray

You get two bags of blue crystal litter and this is ample for the size of the litter box. The lifespan of the litter varies on the number of cats you have for one cat this last 20-30 days and two cats 10-15 days.

The scoop is the same colour as the surround. It is very sturdy  and has a hanger you can stick onto the back of the tray so it is always to hand.

I have been using this for four days now and my cats have acclimatised to it very well.

The urine has dried out and the crystal litter leaves the tray odour free and makes it easier to clean poo out of the tray.

The height of the tray is fantastic for actually keeping the litter in the tray and stop it going over the floor.

There  are ideas in the instruction book on how to adapt your cat to using the tray if they are unsure about it.

It does suggest you can leave your exiting cat litter tray out for a week along with the crystal litter tray and also if your cats are not adapting to the crystal tray then put some of your old cat litter in the tray

There is also information about maximizing the life of the crystal litter.

Overall  I was impressed with the  ease of assembly , the design and operation of the litter tray. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to any cat lover that wants an odour free house and a litter free floor.
