Wow what a bunch!! What a venue!! What an evening!! The Oyster Shed is a fantastic dining experience, one of the many Geronimo pubs, set along the east central Thames bank overlooking the Shard and the Tower of London. Spectacular view letting you know you’re in the heart of London.
I was lucky enough to be invited along to an “Oyster Shucking” experience. A select few were well looked after champagne reception and delightful canapés. Followed by the head chief demonstrating how to shuck an oyster, fillet a beautifully fresh sea bass and gave us some inside tips on how to make the most simplest of salmon taste that so much more. We also had the chance to give it a “shuck” ourselves and of course taste the wonderfully fresh and fragrant delights all washed down with a delicious Chablis which happens to be my favourite and complimented the seafood extremely well. Followed with more wine we were then served with tiny cups of battered cod bites and French fries and some freshly opened and prepared scallops accompanied by roasted pork squares with crunchy crackling and a cauliflower puree which was amazing.
The company was brilliant. I was talking with managers from all over the Geronimo pubs and if their places are anything to go by their characters you will be sure to have a great evening or event.
Not only was the food amazing the company was great and I learnt how to “shuck” which I was great at by the way.
If you are a company wanting to give the office a team building experience I would definitely recommend one of the Geronimo pubs. I tasted all the seafare and after looking at their menu will be going back to try some more of their delights. A very well presented evening enjoyed by all a great place to just hang out and have a few sophisticated drinks and even better place to sit and eat, overall a great experience.
