We were invited to join the party to celebrate the re-opening of The Old Mill in Berkhamsted. It is situated at the end of the Main Street through the town next to a new luxury property development and the side of the canal. We were greeted with a glass of their prosecco or gin & tonic, both of which were lovely and left you wanting more! The bar is stocked well with a variety of premium beers and ciders plus a generous wine list for every palate. They also stock a variety of good gins which are served in a large glass with plenty of ice which my husband can't wait to work his way through!
The pub has been completely revamped and is decorated in muted sage greens and creams with lovely tables and chairs in co-ordinating fabrics and a variety of different pictures and prints on the walls. There are plenty of cosy nooks for you to get together with friends or have a romantic evening together but feels light and airy too. They have a 'Snug' with armchairs which looks perfect for wintery Sunday afternoons with friends or the sumptuous private dining room which seats up to 16 around a large table.
Outside they have plenty of tables, some are near the canal side, others at the front of the bar and a lovely secluded area with an original water feature from the Old Mill. There are plenty of umbrellas around the tables which are set on cobbles or decking plus in the evening big candles were lit on every table.
The canapés were delicious and the band entertainment was of a very good standard, plenty of feet were tapping! We had a lovely time at The Old Mill, the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable, the bar service was excellent and the surroundings were beautiful and we are looking forward to making a return visit!
