This evening my sister and I went to The Lowry theatre in Salford Quays, Manchester to see the show Noodles by No Fit State Circus.

The Lowry theatre is within easy reach of all modes of public transport including buses as well as trams and it has ample parking facilities across the road within The Lowry outlet mall, which is where we parked and it cost us £3.50 for our 1½ hour stay. The multi storey car park in within a small walking distance to the theatre.

Once inside we collected our tickets from the box office in the main reception we made our way to the Quays Theatre ready to take our seats. First stop were the toilets which were ideally located just to the side of the theatre and clearly sign posted. The toilets themselves were spacious, clean and well kept.

Upon entering the theatre we were met by 2 helpful women who checked the tickets and shown us the area where we would be sat. The theatre was clean and comfortable.

Once sat down we could see the stage clearly and were intrigued by the set full of ‘noodles’ and wondered what was in store. Nothing could have prepared us for what we were about to see. The show consisted of 4 ‘fashionable’ ladies and a gentleman who all had a passion for noodles. There was laughter from the outset from the members of the audience which included children as well as adults.

The show wasn’t in English which I found made it a tad difficult to follow and to make sense of what was going out, as they were shouting and saying things as they were throwing the noodles so we were a little lost in translation, but the air acrobatics and tight rope walking amongst other fab acts made up for this, without giving too much away this quirky show will show you noodles coming out of places that you never thought possible. There were lots of adult humour that went over the younger viewers heads which had us all laughing out loud, as I think the ‘spaghetti yeti’ was certainly a favourite of mine.

There acrobatics and funky moves were all done by the 4 ladies of the show where as the magic was left to the gentleman which amazed the younger audience.

The show lasted around an hour and I don’t think I could ever look at Noodles in the same way again!

It was a fun and quirky show and not like anything I had ever seen before, I would recommend it to people that are into quirky style shows and contemporary theatre, but for me even though some of the humour went over the children’s heads I don’t think its suitable for under 13s.

Noodles is a surreal mixture of theatre and circus.
