My family and I have visited Brewers Fayre Tirfounder Fields several times, so my son and I were looking forward to trying out the new editions to the Spring menu.

Tirfounder Fields is easy to find, conveniently located at Riverside Retail Park, Cwmbach, Aberdare. The venue has ample parking and has something to suit everybody. Family friendly, Tirfounder Fields, also has a huge play area, perfect for keeping little ones entertained.

The venue is smartly presented and is spotlessly clean. I must say, the staff were amazing, extremely polite, attentive and extremely knowledgeable regarding the menu.

Unfortunately, I was driving, so unable to try the new white and red wine options, which came highly recommended! Nonetheless, the new J2O was delicious!

My absolute favorite starter was the new wedges, served with lashings of cheese, bacon and spring onion, accompanied by a sour cream dip, deliciously moreish! If you’d prefer something hotter, then I would recommend the southern fried, chicken wings, served with a generous helping of piri piri sauce, although if you’re not so brave so can substitute this for an alternative, such as BBQ sauce (the staff are more than happy to ensure you get exactly what you want!).

My main of choice is definitely the succulent, beef, mushroom and cheese burger, cooked to perfection, topped with cheddar cheese, mushrooms and salad, accompanied with coleslaw. However, the Mexican Beef Chili, served with nachos and rice and the Chicken Garlic Chicken, a novel twist on the traditional Chicken Kiev (served with a fried egg), also went down a treat! Not a meat eater? Fear not! The Sweet Potato and Feta Lasagna is surprisingly tasty, served a side of salad.

Having a sweet tooth, the well anticipated desserts were certainly worth the wait! Every chocolate lovers dream… Dirty Mud Pie, a massive helping of chocolate brownie, chocolate sauce, ice cream and chocolate shavings, heaven! If you’re not a chocolate lover though, my son would highly recommend the Banoffee Pie, served on a biscuit base topped with fresh banana slices and drizzled with caramel sauce.

I’ve no hesitation in giving the new spring menu a massive 5/5! Already recommended this to my parents, who visited today and were hugely impressed!

Rating: 5/5
