Nanogen Keratin Hair Fibres Review

I love a beauty product and get giddy with excitement when trying something new. Last week I was delighted to receive Nanogen keratin fibres in light blonde. My hair is long, bleached and extremely fine, I was looking forward to having thicker hair, even if temporarily.

The product comes packaged nicely, the box is modern and minimalistic in design. The product itself is comes in a black and silver container with a mesh top. When it came to trying the fibres I was shocked at how many came out at a time, despite me trying to slowly layer my hair at the root, my bathroom was awash with keratin, because of the light blonde colour, I couldn’t see where they were landing but I knew they went everywhere! Once you have shaken the product onto your hair, you run your fingers through it to distribute it. I am going to be honest, there was a slight difference to how my hair felt and looked but nowhere near the dramatic experience I had hoped for. I tried staring at my hair, hoping that somehow instead of it being stuck to my scalp I would have the lift and volume that thick luscious hair seems to have, but no dramatic change for me. The Mr didn’t look at me and say “oh, have you done something with your hair, it looks so much thicker”. Please do not get me wrong, the fibres thickened my hair slightly, so they did do what it says on the box, perhaps my expectations were too high.

Video testimonials on the website include people with thinning hair and I perhaps think that maybe they are the target audience. I can see the benefits of the product if you can see your scalp through thinning hair but to simply thicken ultra- fine hair, for me it wasn’t a wow moment.
