Mum You Are Loved Wine Glass by Lolita Review

Reviewed by Rebecca Wong
Its nearly Mother’s Day (Sunday 22 March 2020) and each year I challenge myself to get my lovely mother something a little bit different, something that will last beyond flowers in a vase and something extra special that she will want to keep and use. When I was sent this wine glass to review, I wondered if it would meet all of my requirements.
The glass came in a sturdy cardboard packaging which was really eye catching. It was a real feast for the eyes with a lovely brief back-story to the Lolita brand. It showcased a range of available wine glass designs which all looked equally as bright and colourful. As well as a large picture of the wine glass I was to find inside the box. The “Mum you are loved” wine glass certainly looked just the ticket for Mother’s Day however the picture did not do justice to what I found in the box.

The glass featured lovely floral paintings as well as the words “Mum you are loved” on the front. But there was so much more to it than that. The stalk of the glass was adorned with pearl-effect beads which gave it a lovely texture when holding and drinking from it. Dotted around the glass itself where occasional diamante gems. It was a work of art in a wine glass form and I could not help but appreciate and admire the fact that each glass is individually hand-painted and so no two are the same. This indeed was a special and unique gift!
It didn’t stop there as I found the bottom of the stand was painted pink and featured a wine cocktail recipe followed by Lolita’s signature. What a lovely addition to a part of the glass that rarely draws any attention. I felt like every single millimetre of the glass was designed to make me smile. And it really did make me smile!
I could hardly wait to try it out! As I enjoyed a chilled glass of Rose, I found that I really savoured holding the glass and my eyes were repeatedly drawn to the design as I admired it and smiled- again! It even added to my enjoyment of my usual tipple, which I didn’t think was possible as I felt like I was really treating myself.
The glass must be hand-washed to avoid damaging any of the hand-painted design or losing any of the attached beads. I didn’t mind as then I made sure I dried it and placed it back in its box, which I have kept for safe storage. The box itself gives the glass a luxurious identity and is a bright reminder each time I reach for a wine glass that it is there, and it will be my number one choice of glass!
I also love the wording on the glass, it’s much more original than the usual ‘Best Mum’ and ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ messages. It’s a simple and genuine reminder for any mother and it’s not just a seasonal glass, it can be used all year round.
So is it good enough for my mother? Absolutely. And as a mum myself, it is definitely on my list of gifts I’d love to receive. So for the mum who likes wine, why not add to the pleasure with this wonderful, unique, colourful and vibrant glass to adore and show off whenever she enjoys a wine. It’s an easy and simple gift that will give years of joy and make people smile whenever they see it.
