Starring Strictly’s Vincent & Flavia
Opera House, Manchester
Tuesday 23 to Saturday 27 July 2013
Vincent Simone andFlavia Cacace have dazzled television audiences for seven series of the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing with their stunning tango routines. And now they’re returning to the Opera House with Midnight Tango – a breathtaking evening bringing all the drama, sensuality and elegance of this most exciting of dance forms to life.
Vincent and Flavia’s mesmerizing choreography and firey chemistry command the floor with explosive tango routines, gravity-defying moves and featherlight footwork.
Since the Olivier-nominated show first began in April 2011, it has sold almost 500,000 tickets throughout the UK and Ireland during its hit runs in the West End and on tour. The show played the Opera House in March last year to great acclaim.
Set in a late night bar in downtown Buenos Aires and featuring some of the finest tango dancers in the world and live music – Midnight Tango takes audiences on a journey into a heart of this intoxicating city. As danger and excitement, joy and jealousy, pain and passion all combine – this is a spectacular evening set to delight dance fans.
Midnight Tango is directed by Olivier Award-winning choreographer Karen Bruce, who has choreographed for both Strictly Come Dancing and So You Think You Can Dance on BBC 1, and whose theatre credits include Pacific Overtures (Donmar Warehouse) and Footloose (West End and UK Tour). Choreography is by Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace, design by Morgan Large and lighting by James Whiteside. The live music will be provided by top tango band, Tango Siempre, featuring vocalist Miguel Angel.
Midnight Tango is produced in London and on tour by Arlene Phillips and Adam Spiegel.
