Now I’m over 50 my skin feels like it is losing some elasticity and so I’m very open to trying new products instead of the same ones I have used for many years. I hadn’t heard of the brand Embryolisse before I was selected to review this product, so I took the opportunity to check out their website and learn a little more. A French brand, born out of Paris in 1950, Embryolisse started with one product, Lait-Crème Concentré, which has now sold millions around the world.
Having found out that they had a long and solid background, I was looking forward to trying out their Hydra-Masque a face mask which is unusually suitable for all skin types. When it arrived I realised why I probably hadn’t noticed the brand before, the packaging was very unassuming in a small white box with a blue and grey design on. Inside was a hand sized 60ml tube, similar in size to a tube of hand cream, in the same white and blue branding. The instructions are simple and are displayed on the tube, the box and the leaflet inside, use the masque twice a week on clean dry skin, leave for 15 minutes then wipe or rinse off and excess. Sounded easy, I just needed to find 15 minutes of child free time!
Deciding on a relaxing evening bath, I took the Hydra-Masque with me to try out. When you squeeze it on your fingers to rub into your face, the first thing you notice is the wonderful fragrance, it reminded me of daffodils and springtime. The masque is generously rich, more like thick cream than a standard face pack, it rubs into the skin easily like a night cream and soaks into your skin over the 15 minutes. My husband came in to see what I looked like and was surprised to see I wasn’t looking silly as I usually would with a face cracking heavy mask on, he said he couldn’t really notice the cream at all.
After the required 15 minutes I wiped my face with a warm damp cloth but most of the Hydra-Msque had already soaked into my skin. My skin felt absolutely great afterwards, soft, supple and more radiant so I will definitely be using this new addition to my beauty regime every week from now on. The main active ingredients of the masque are hyaluronic acid, glycerin, allantoin and beeswax together with vitamins A, E & F. It also contains sweet almond and sesame oils which is where the amazing fragrance must have come from.
Having used this Embroyolisse product successfully I will be actively seeking out more of their range in my local pharmacy, It’s great value for a product range that actually works. At around £10-15 the Embryolisse Hydra-masque would make a great stocking filler, and as its suitable for every skin type you don’t have any awkward questions to ask before you purchase.
Highly recommend both as a gift to others or just to treat yourself to some relaxing downtime, even if it is only 15 minutes!
