Oastoberfest 2015 at The Oast House Manchester Review
Oastoberfest

Yesterday evening we travelled to the Oast House, which is situated in Spinningfields in the centre of Manchester, for the launch of Oastoberfest. When we arrived we saw that the outside seating area had been taken over by a huge teepee. The venue is a very trendy bar created from a reclaimed 16th century oast house and is situated next the city’s crown court. It is usually very accessible, but as the traffic was horrendous due to unforeseen circumstances, we found it easier to travel by bus instead of by car.
On entering, we were warmly greeted by a member of staff and were invited to sit down on one of the rustic benches covered in warm sheepskin rugs. We were given beer steins full of delicious Paulaner German beer to drink. Staff members dressed in lederhosen and hats came round with a variety of frankfurter sausages for us to sample. The teepee was decorated with twinkling lights and had a warm log burning stove, adding to the cosy atmosphere and keeping us snuggly warm.
We had been informed that a brass band would be performing so I was just expecting a run of the mill oompah band, but when The Twisted Tubes came onto the stage and immediately started with their own upbeat version of Beyonce’s ‘Crazy Right Now”, I broke out in a huge grin. It was completely unexpected and a delightful twist. They proceeded to wow the clientele with their own versions of hits such as ‘Thriller”, ‘Crazy’, Play That Funky Music’ and many more.
We had a fabulous evening, so if you are looking for a fun night out, with amazing music and plenty of good German beer, Oktoberfest at the Oast House is the place to go.
Tickets cost from £15.
