As I have young siblings both under the age of two years old, I was delighted to receive the Little Tikes Stand ‘N Dance Starfish from the Lil’ Ocean Explorers range to review. This toy is aimed at children aged 9 months to 3 years and is perfect for developing both their fine and gross motor skills. My little brother, Oscar, who is 18 months old, walked over to the Starfish and immediately started to play with the four multi coloured balls, rolling them down the spiral ramp. He enjoyed pressing down on the keys so that the toy played music and flashed lights. This toy is great as when my little sister, Jasmine, is able to sit up and crawl, she will be able to play alongside her brother. It is a toy that actually grows with your child, so it is ideal for anyone who has young children of different ages.
The toy has two different modes, both of which involve flashing lights and music, and is perfect for keeping young children entertained whilst encouraging their development. It is quite a sturdy toy, so my sister will be able to pull herself up on it without it toppling over. The keys are designed to be pressed down either by little feet or by hand. My brother had great fun standing on the keys and making the lights and music work.
The Starfish comes in a recyclable cardboard box and we found it easy to assemble in a few minutes. It requires three AA batteries which are not supplied.
The Stand ‘N Dance Starfish would make a perfect Christmas present for a toddler as it keeps them happy for hours.
