Living on a Budget with Aldi Review

Reviewed by Corrin Brind
I live on my own with my little dog and like a lot of people I have a tight household budget to stick to of around £30 a week for my food shopping. I therefore wanted to see how far £70 would stretch at Aldi. I tend to go for convenience and not cook meals from scratch, so I popped along to my Aldi for my main shop and bought the following:
Lasagne
Stuffed crust pizza
Oven chips
Garlic bread
Diet coke
Small bottles of water
Cider
Desserts
Milk
Bread
Eggs
Squash
Cheese slices
Tomatoes
Dog Food
Other frozen items
2 fabulous £4.99 Wow Toys from their Special Buys
This came to just under £70 and has lasted me around 3 weeks. I have since done a further shop just to top up on a few essentials which came to around £10. So for me £80 would almost cover a whole month of food shopping at ALDI which is amazing, especially given that I do not cook meals from scratch and tend to like popping something in the oven after a long day at work. My dog, Willow, loves the ALDI dog food and looks fit and health with boundless energy.
Aldi is great for someone running a house on their own as you can eat well without going over your allocated budget. The staff are always very helpful in store and opening hours convenient.
Top marks for quality and value for money.
